So, if you have kids is it possible to game while you have them or is better to just let it ride until your weekend is done and say no game for now?
I have two kids and I find it almost impossible to work game with them. They aren't the cute adorable babies. They are 3 and 6. I love my kids but honestly they are also awesome cock blockers. Hell, as I write this I have one crying to play dolls and the other crying to be on the computer because he saw me on here. Don't get me wrong. I'll happily take care of my fatherly duties when I'm done. I love them. It's just hard sometimes.
A perfect example is a couple of months ago I took them to a fall festival. They get in the facepainting line and when we get to them getting their face painted I start talking to the cute volunteer whose painting their faces. I could see she was into me with her body language. We chatted and I found out she was in college for biology and had spent some time in Oregon. I talked to her about how I always wanted to go to Oregon. She had this great little hippy vibe I just wanted to bang the shit out of. I was closing in on getting her number then she finished. As I'm about to ask I hear, "Daddy let's go to the pumpkin ride!" I talk a few seconds more then I start hearing it over and over again. I can't stand around any longer because I'd look like an ass. I had no time to get a number because by this time another kid was getting their face painted. Chance lost. I tried finding openings and a way to get down to the face painting again the rest of the festival. But every time I'd try to make a move toward it the kids would start bitching. I knew by that time anyway it was over. I had now become frustrated and out of my game. Any other attempt I would have made wouldn't have been genuine. I probably would have come off as a desperate dad.
I have tried a couple of other approaches since then, but with no luck. I find I have to do it quick and maybe too quick. I can't talk them up for minutes. I have literally a few seconds to get their attention and then at tops a couple of minutes to see if I can get a number.
So, any advice from other dads or examples of game with kids?
