Post fight at Regular Spot

Simple question

I had an altercation with the Dj at my regular spot. I have been going there for about 3 months.

He hit me with a sucker punch and before I can lay hands on him security was all over me. They basically threw me out like this.

I don't want advice on doing anything physical. I am a little girl. [Image: lol.gif]. I am talking about in terms of not ruining my night game at that spot.

Simple question

How do I proceed about this?

BTW If your wondering what I said to him. Well, I told him...It doesn't matter what I told him. I know he was trying to impress a chick. No biggie.

You're probably facing a life time ban mate. Every guy I've know who's scrapped with staff has never been allowed to return. Assuming you didn't press charges or get the police involved then proceed by just pretending it didn't happen. There is no point in trying to square things with the staff, even if you're in tight with the management they won't ever take your side over money.

Personally I'd say get a new spot, if you're a good punter they don't deserve your business, if your a dick then they won't want your business.

Might have to wait until the staff has turned over.

In my experience a 'lifetime ban' usually means about 3-6 months depending on the memory and turnover of the staff. Wait a few months then walk in like nothing happened. In the mean time scope out a few new placers. Clubs and bars are constantly changing, there might be something better close by.

From my experience on the other side, you might not even be banned. I've tossed guys that I couldn't even recognize after the night was over because we had to toss 10 guys that night.

Can't hurt to show up again and see what's up. If banned, do as Ensam said and find a new place for awhile before trying again. And if you're truly banned for "life", that's the game.

No idea why you thought it'd be wise to get into it with the DJ though.

Why did you pick a fight with the Dj?

I didn't. I simply requested a song. I even tip the guy $5. When the song came on I told him..You see now people are dancing. I guess he felt "some type of way". There was a chick in the booth with him at moment. This is not a big club. It's not like he is Dj Tiesto. Moral of the story, don't mess with the Dj. [Image: wink.gif]

I just want to know if any one has encounter such a thing and how to proceed to minimize the damage. This spot is the only one good on Thursdays. I can find another spot for Friday or Saturday close by.

I think I got too comfortable at that spot. The bartenders all like me. I tip well. I get free drinks all the time from them. One of them is from my country and we talk all the time. But I guess the Dj didn't get the memo. If I was him, I would have hit me too.[Image: rolleyes.gif] That's why I am being so open-minded about this.

Nah man you were amogging him in front of his girl.

If you want to be a big shot and last, you'd better be greasing everybody's emotions and managing everyone's egos.

I don't believe that he just tried to hit you after you said that. You probably said some of other things that escalated it.

All your fault. Own up to it, and evolve your game. You could try apologizing to him.

Punched by a DJ? Who gets a DJ that riled up?

Yeahhh... The last thing you wanna do to a DJ is imply they don't know what they're doing.

A few years ago I put the smackdown on a guy who repeatedly requested I play Dr. Dre whilst I was playing a house set.

He finally came over and told me to "stop playing this gay techno shit."

I lost it. I told him to get the fuck out and he said "make me."

Those are the magic words.

You fucked up. Learn from your mistake and find a new place.

IMO the only reason to lock a place down is for pussy. You greased everybody there but the DJ and now you want to go back for whatever reason. How many lays have you gotten from this place in the last six months? If zero then why grease the place or why would you want to go back the next week?

Most places here rotate the DJs. You should be good as long as its not the same night. Doubt you are banned. If you dropp 100+ a week it wouldnt be a good decision unless you are that drunk guy who always causes problems.

I use to go out four times a week. Spot by a place and get a drink or two. Never thought about locking down a place. I need to read that thread and see if it is worth it. In South Texas all the bars are mostly dudes so there is nonpoint. The clubs would be worth it though.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

Don't tell a DJ how to do his job. I'd toss you a fist too if you told me what song to play.

Dr. Dre is good shit lol.

@OP, guess you learned your lesson. Take your business and musical taste elsewhere, where the DJ doesn't mix personal life and business (implying that the girl was his GF or something.)

But what about the song you requested? You can't just leave that part out.

He is leaving it out. My guess is Katy Perry Roar. Or that I love it song.

Explain the "sucker punch". People always throw this around when they get popped in the face and are embarrassed. In my experience it usually isn't a sucker punch at all.

Did he come up and hit you from the side or behind when you weren't looking? That's a sucker punch.

If you were mouthing off to him, as you apparently were, and he cracks you, that's not a sucker punch. That's someone getting blasted for being an asshole.

Dumb move but mix alcohol + people and shit happens.

I've been 86'd before in a few places, but give it 3-4 months and they usually don't care anymore.

This is exactly why I preach having MULTIPLE spots On Lock though. Same with girls: have multiples so your dick is never dry.
