Best fight scenes ever on film

Haven't seen a topic like this. Thought it would be good.

My personal favorite fight scene in a movie, bar none.

Can only find it in parts, but this is the best part of course.

Lyon vs Attila

When Attila yells out "YOUUU" Van Damme just shows why he was the biggest badass in the 80s besides possibly Mickey Rourke.

Most people don't know this, but him and Abdel Qissi (who played Attila) are very good friends, and Michel Qissi who tells him "It's time go home" was Tong Po in the Kickboxer movies.

Don't want to clog the thread with embedded videos, so I'll post just URLs like Kabal. This one is my absolute favorite:

Achilles vs. Hector

Have no idea how realistic or faithful to the Illiad it is, but it's amazing.

The Puritan hated bear-baiting, not because it gave pain to the bear, but because it gave pleasure to the spectators. - Thomas B. Macaulay

Rick Von Slonecker is tall, rich, good-looking, stupid, dishonest, conceited, a bully, liar, drunk and thief, an egomaniac, and probably psychotic. In short, highly attractive to women. - Whit Stillman

There are two types of captivating fight scenes in movies: The flashy unbelievable over the top ones like John McClane destroying a military hover-airplane with a truck in Die hard 4 and the technical realistical ones where you can look and learn and recognize something more or less applicable in real life like the famous Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris scene.

Which ones did you have in mind?

It's not really a fight, but I enjoy this scene.

Raging Bull - "Hit Me in the Face"

"The whole point of being alpha, is doing what the fuck you want.
That's why you see real life alphas without chicks. He's doing him.

Real alphas don't tend to have game. They don't tend to care about the emotional lives of the people around them."

I don't know why, but I always loved the bathroom fight scene from Casino Royale. It wasn't particularly well choreographed, but it was gritty and fun to watch.

I think we should distinguish between realistic fight scenes and beautifully choreographed fight scenes. A lot of the movies cited above have amazing choreography, but are they realistic fights? Not really. At least no fight I've ever seen.

Some of the old-school movies had pretty good, realistic fight scenes. Check out this barroom fight from 1948's Treasure of the Sierra Madre. I think it's damn good. The location is Tampico, Mexico:

More realistic, sure. Still too pretty for a real fight though. cf. worldstar
