Hey guys! I'm new to this forum and this will be my first post.

I'm a Dutch student i'm 19 years old and i'll doing an internship for about 5 months in Suzhou, China which starts in Februari 2014.
Everything's paid for including my flight and appartment , and I get a nice salary.
I'm white, I have blue eyes, brown hair and an athletic build.
I have a couple of questions for you guys regarding Suzhou:


- How is the nightlife? (Clubs, bars?)
- How are the girls?
- Should I do some pipelining before I go?
- What are the best pipelining methods in China?
- What are you're experiences about Suzhou?
- Do you guys have any good tips?

I'll be looking forward for some good answers, thanks in advance!

There are a lot of places named Suzhou, are you talking about Suzhou, Jiangsu or where exactly? BTW that whole place is covered in posionous pollution right now, if you are going to stay there, go out to Sunning and buy yourself an AIR CLEANER or bring one from home. It needs to be able to filter out PM2.5 particles, so you are looking at 3000 rmb and up. I hear the most efficent is BLUEAIR. That goes for anyone living in China btw! I bought a Phillips ac4025

and it works awesome and it only cost me 700 RMB. You only need to change the filter once a year, its quiet and it looks like R2D2 when its turned on. Also get ALOT of plants, especially SNAKE PLANTS, they cost about 20 to 30 RMB each for a mid sized potted one and they are near impossible to kill. I cut one into pieces and stuck each piece in an individual pot and all the pieces resprouted. Anyway snake plants release OXYGEN at night and clean the air during the day.

I would get at least 5 to 10 plants, right now we have about 11, 5 of which are fairly large. 4 in the main room, 4 snake plants in the bedroom and a couple in the laundry room. There is even one type of vine that eats fecal matter and lives in darkness that you can get for your washroom. Plants are like natures vacuums and they suck up all kinds of pollution from the air and even on the wall. I had a peace lily stuck against a wall and it ATE the paint right off the wall. Don't buy the mint plants, they attract mosquitos. The best ones are the plants with BIG leaves.

its the nicest area of Jiangsu... which isn't saying much really. There is probably less pollution there than the rest of the province. Still alot of air pollution, get a mask and loads of plants.

Well I was in Venice last year and it was pretty messed up, very expensive; they charged me 15 euro's for a ham and cheese sandwich at the Piazza Venezia square!

But how is the nightlife in Suzhou? What about pipelining? And how are the girls?

The "Venice" of China is nice, but its the small old area with the gardens and such. The city is massive, sprawling and dirty.

I was there in 2008, so take what I say with a grain of salt. 5 years in China is 20 years in the rest of the world.

Never noticed much for girls. In fact, I have no mental notes of seeing any worth remembering. Perhaps its because its so close to Shanghai, where there are so many.

An internship in China will be awesome. Have fun, make contacts, make lots of notes on problems and their solutions. I feel this is the way to make money in China (and other fast paced developing nations). They are moving so fast, that they are creating almost as many problems as they are solving. Its a self perpetuating cycle that = $$$$.

Nightlife is guaranteed to suck (although, I'd be delighted to be wrong). Outside of BJ/SH/HK, clubs are all a bunch of tables with no dance floor. Expensive bottle service is the norm and a lot of the girls are paid to be there.

Bars aren't much better.

I'm guessing you'll be in a somewhat more smaller area (compared to Beijing and Shanghai). The girls will probably range from fugly to cute, with a few gems here and there. Be aware, some of them sport mustaches.

Pipelining is good enough. That's how I met women there beforehand and then met them in person. I wouldn't even worry about nightclubs if you just want to meet girls. You are the ideal foreigner there; white, tall, with light features. It'll probably be easy mode for you, no game required, unless you meet clingy virgins looking for marriage or something.

No need to bother. Just install WeChat (Weixin), and once you arrive in Suzhou, then use the "People Nearby" feature, and write "Hello" (in English, not Chinese) to any cute girls. As long as you have a good profile photo to show you're white, you'll get a 20-50% response rate.
