South Africans are some of the fakest people on this planet, really good at stabbing you behind your back. Actually, I never heard anything good about them, I don't know what is worse, a German or a south African.

Having spent most of the past decade living outside of my home country (USA), when I look back at the lasting friendships that I still keep it is mostly with American guys. I don't know if it is that American guys are actually good friends or if since I am also American I just tend to get along with them more.

Countries I find guys I get along with well...
Canadians
Brits
South Africans
Scandinavians

When I find another American guy outside the USA who is under 50, well travelled, and has a location independent job, there is a good chance I am going to be friends with him.

South Africans are solid as they come. My family is huge into old school Big Game and they do reciprocals with private game reserves in SA. The guys I meet are straight up, loyal, and have no fear. 8/10 would friendzone.

South Africans are some of the fakest people on this planet, really good at stabbing you behind your back. Actually, I never heard anything good about them, I don't know what is worse, a German or a south African.

Actually I find German people to be very cool, as long as you don't hang around the hipster types. That being said, every South African I've met so far has been a right twat. For me it's a toss up between Aussies, Italians and Saffas.

Best Countries for Friendship

This thread deserves a bump.

After reading in The Kamaki Thread about from which countries guys Roosh prefer to make friendship with,I started to think about this myself as I'm been hanging out with locals in a lot of the countries I have visited.

I have also met plenty of people from countries I have never been in.

I'm by no means an ordinary or typical Finn so my views shouldn't been taken as guideline for general Finnish people.

1. People I usually "click" with
Canadians,Germans,Kiwis,Irishmen and Scotsmen.

2. People I get good along with.
Brits,Dutch,Aussies,Black Americans,Norwegians.

- Non-Muslim Iranians. They are a different breed. They are extremely friendly, almost overfriendly. They give off a very European vibe. Easiest people in the world to become friends with.

3. Neutral people
Swiss,Spaniards, South Americans,Central Europeans,Baltics.

4. Hit or Miss people
-These are the people I got very mixed experiences from, sometimes super cool, sometimes a nightmare.

Americans,Russians,French,Italians,Japanese,Swedes.

5. People. I rarely get along with.
Israelis Greeks,Turks,Indians.

I dont like most australians and some particular group of Americans (although americans have more variations in that aspect)who always seem always with an attitude to prove something, they are the opposites of most europeans who in exchange are much more relaxed and natural.

The most Chill dudes I've met are usually from Scandinavia, Netherlands, Germany, South America and Central-eastern europeans (specially polish, Czech, slovak and hungarian dudes).

East Asian dudes seem ok but hard to relate with. Italians and southern europeans often value the social circle and you never will be the same as those friends who grew up with them. They also can jump away from you for a girl at any moment.

Indian dudes are incredible friendly Imo, their riendlyness is often underlooked, they seem to never get annoyed when you make fun of them.

Met some cool guys which turned into friendships in Colombia and Brazil. I had a hard time relating to guys in Eastern Europe, especially Poland. However, some of the guys I met in Romania were cool with decent game.

I have almost exactly the same list. I don't really know as many Latinos but Kiwis and Irish people are, by far, the nicest and funniest people I've ever met, respectively.

I do agree about non-Muslim Iranians. Very interesting and accommodating people for sure.

Have you spent much time in East Asia?

I can understand how westerners who do not speak any local languages would have a very difficult time creating meaningful relationships with anyone.

EDIT - after going through your reps and some threads I realize that you have traveled extensively through the region.

I'm Irish.

I find I almost always hit it off with Aussies, Kiwis, Brits, Germans, French, Brazillians, Mexicans. But you can find cool people everywhere.

I rarely hit it off with East Asians. Though I consider them good-natured, I find I never have much in common with them. The women often strike me as immature. Particularly Japanese women.

In my case,

Russians, French, Indian (very warm people, IRT notwithstanding), and Uzbeks. These are usually the nationalities I get along best with.

Now, regarding Americans and Canadians, I'm more ambivalent. On the one hand, they tend to be friendly but the friendliness is so fucking superficial that I find it next to impossible to connect with them on a personal level. So, as acquaintances and co-workers, they do just fine. As friends, not so much. Anglos also have a habit of snitching, which I find deplorable. Not that I've ever been in a situation where it happened, but it's only here in NA that I've noticed it.

^ Agree about the superficial thing with Americans.
Sometimes you don't know if they are friendly or just trolling.

With Finns, what you see is what you get. No playing or pretending here.
That's the reason why Finns often get pissed off and dissapointed abroad when they realise that people are not as honest as they are.

Russians on the other hand has a habit of taking a shortcuts and the easy way out with everything.
They can be good friends and they have excellent humour but they cannot be trusted so that's making them unreliable as business partners. The are living every day like their last day.

Excellent and succinct analysis. And the bolded part is precisely the reason why I get along with them so well. As for business, stay the fuck away! [Image: lol.gif]

Labelling a country as the best for friendship is just too simplistic, instead I would say the group of people that make the best long term friends are the most successful people, usually because they value networking the most in general and although the trade off might be less hangout time than what you may expect, at least you know you're receiving high value out of the relationship and limited time you have on this planet.

And although it may be a bit tougher to make good friends with the more successful people who actually value their time, I would suggest focusing on what you can offer them instead of what they can do for you and eventually the favors will be repaid. Initiating a conversation by offering to buy them dinner is a great start once you know who your target is and what your main goal is.

Friendship isn't necessarily about getting something out of someone. Yes, networking is important. But the guy that helps you get into dental school might not be the guy you'd go for a beer with or chat about hoes.

I would actually argue that this mentality poses a real obstacle when making friends in the West. People here are automatically suspicious when you try to get close to them as they think you want something other than friendship.

I haven't had any issues making friends when I've lived in or travelled to foreign countries. If they are like minded and have pretty similar interests then I'll probably get along fine with them regardless of their country of origin.

Italians, Polish, British have been great for me.
