I was listening to an interview with Billy Corgan this morning and he talked a lot about this.

We live in an age where there are companies, large companies, who have built an industry scanning tweets, posts, etc to bring out the worst quotes. It does not matter if the quote is taken on a completely different context then what it is for, they can and will still sell it or do something of damaging value with it.

A high school motivational speaker.

A pro athlete.

A yoga clothing entrepreneur.

If there is any value in causing trouble, they will take it. And try and profit off of it.
