There's been plenty of back and forth about Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead on these forums. I don't want to rehash the merits or shortcomings of Objectivism or Ethical Selfishness, but I do want to highlight this quote.

It's the reason why we ship our heroes off to war and put our wise men in retirement homes or leave them on the streets to talk to themselves.
