Rejection Therapy

"Rejection Therapy is the real life game with one rule...YOU MUST BE REJECTED BY ANOTHER PERSON AT LEAST ONCE, EVERY SINGLE DAY."

I've been in a sort of funky mood where I feel a bit too comfortable recently, and seeing this made me realize that I haven't been rejected enough recently, and by that I mean I haven't been taking enough risks!

A life without risks is not a life worth living, so I'm fuckin' gonna put my self out there, and I think the rest of you who feel that boring comfortable feeling should do the same too!

Haha well.. depends I think my risc and energy are going towards higher purposes than bangs ATM. I got a paper that could go into the journal nature neuroscience, some really kick ass stuff if I play my cards right, I got a economics study besides my PhD and Im starting up an art poster site, where I got the most talented guy to contribute (will show you guys some stuff soon), so.. Im not going out to do street/night game AT ALL, if they dont come here to be banged then Im not interested.. but they do..

Not counting the guy I tried to swoop in the shower yesterday at my gymn.. haha

I like your basic idea.. its just we only have a certain amount of time, energy mojo and whatever and there really is so much more than game to life, so its kinda OCD like to suggest what your saying. OCD in the most positive meaning of the word that is :-)

Good stuff, I second that.. nice post.

Exactly. I prefer the rejections to the thoughts of "what if.." One of my boys married a girl, he picked up with a pizza pie in his hand. She was 17 he was 20 and walking home with the pie.

Not that I want his storyline - except for the first night bang part.

Rejection Therapy

Read about this a couple weeks ago on heartiste's blog.

Heartiste cites an NPR article about the man who created the game.

Quote:Quote:

“I had to get rejected at least once every single day by someone.”

He started in the parking lot of his local grocery store. Went up to a total stranger and asked for a ride across town.

“And he looked at me, like, and just said, ‘I’m not going that way, buddy.’ And I was like, ‘Thank you!’

“It was like, ‘Got it! I got my rejection.’ ”

Jason had totally inverted the rules of life. He took rejection and made it something he wanted — so he would feel good when he got it.

I managed to get a free copy of the classic version of the game. It's a series of challenges, of which you must do one per day.

A few examples of the challenges:

"Try to acquire a good or service by trading and not by purchase"

"Ask for a stranger's phone number" (most of us should have experience with this one)

"Call your credit card provider. Ask to have your interest rate lowered."

"Ask a stranger to have your photo taken with them"

Some cool ideas here. Been in a slight rut socially; so these cards will do me some good.
