Do any of you write online reviews?
And if so, have you gained any flags from it?
I know there's stuff like Yelp, I've dabbled in it, with mixed results
It can be good in terms of the social events, and you already have an 'in' with the cute/semi-cute chicks (although the quality can vary a lot, depending on the event)
I'm just starting doing reviews for a European travel review site, and intend to leverage this as best I can so that when I go abroad in Europe, I'll already have a couple of people I know in pretty much every first tier city and quite a few second tier cities too (from which I intend to use 'social circle game' to boost my prospects) [Image: banana.gif]
Let's see how it goes, will report back regularly over the next few months

Just started writing online reviews in the past month since reading that one dude's yelp game thread. I just got elite status a few days ago and lots of friend requests from mostly Asian chicks. I'll report back when I actually hit up an event. Honestly most of the people seem pretty lame though. Not really expecting much mileage out of it.

Though one good thing about it so far is that owners/managers from the places I've reviewed have hit me up offering free drinks and dinners on the house because of my reviews - usually when I leave bad ones but sometimes when I leave good ones too.

The key is to write about your experience in a way that tells a story. Don't just say the place sucks or it's great. Give details about your experience.

I've found the same with Yelp, quality is not great, mostly 5s on there and the occasional 6
Good point about getting in with owners/managers, this is one I intend to leverage, almost every place I've reviewed has responded well once I've mentioned I'm a part time travel reviewer, it can only be a good thing
And your last point is absolutely spot-on, the personal angle works a treat, that's the stuff people latch onto
Am just getting up and running now, there should be opportunities to meet some of the other people that review other cities abroad, and that's where I'll run my 'social circle+exotic foreigner' game.
Boom!

I get into lots of spot by running yelp game. "Hey guys what's up I'm here to write a review of the place for yelp we're junior editors and this is one of several spots we have picked out for the night."
If I go with a girl already it's a sure in, but you be surprised what managers do to ensure a good review lol. I've had them hand us drinks, constantly checking up on us and bring food. And of course every girl around us is extremely curious as to who we are. I've never had a bad night when this shit works. Just to note don't use it often, think of it as a last ditch effort.

As for the elite meets. It's all circle of friends high school clique vibe but push forward and you'll have good success. Girls are chatty although between the ugly ones and the ones that bring their bf it's slim picking. At least that's how it is in so flo.
