Fuck these assholes and all this political theater. This shit is straight up pro wrestling at this point. It's completely contrived. The R's and the D's take turns playing the face and the heel and get us all to buy into the "fight" they're having over the issues. Anyone who believes in this shit is a straight up mark, a useful idiot.

Just because it's predictable doesn't mean it's made up. The Republicans tried to play chicken, but swerved at the last minute. This is what happens when these people exist in an echo chamber. It's just like the election when lots of conservatives were sure that Romney was going to shock the world, but sure enough Obama had the majority ad an easy electoral college win.
The really funny thing is that the Republicans missed a major opportunity to draw attention to the huge issues with the Obamacare rollout. That would have been an easy win and a way to gather some momentum going into next year's mid-term elections. Districts are so gerrymandered and radicalized that the Republicans may still do fine in 2014, but this is a very obvious loss that could have been easily avoided.

The shutdown was a stupid stunt and threatening to not raise the debt limit was an even dumber stunt.
The GOP needs to stop pulling this shit if it ever wants to regain the White House.
