Hong Kong cheap?

On the real? Maybe if you just do it right?

Anyways, all the rest look legit. Would make for a good starting list while you build up an online biz.

Agree, I don't see any way to do HKG on the cheap and still have fun. One of the most expensive cities in the world to live in.

Portugal is really a steal for such reasonably nice country, Porto in the north is the second largest city, better looking women and cheaper than Lisbon, in the border with Galicia in Spain which is also an inexpensive place. Perfect for a long stay , i can stay there as a tourist with a fraction of my local living costs.

In Porto there is a big university, you can rent a full apartement around for 250-300 euros per month.

Fear mongering. None of these countries strikes me as particularly dangerous for an average traveler.

Apart from that, this list is a bad joke and the methodology a hoax. Seriously, Macedonia at the top? I have to admit that this is the most boring country I've been to culture- and activities-wise. The women are nothing to write home about, too. As for Estonia, Malta and Portugal, they are not extraordinarily cheap nor are HK and UAE.

I agree with you. Not exactly the same reason, though.

UAE's not cheap, but not super expensive either, especially Abu Dhabi if you're staying in local-type hotel.

It's safe, but you always run the risk of running afoul of some local law and getting jammed up by the local police, especially if you have a beef with an Emirati.

I think Sri Lanka is well-placed, though. It's nice, safe, cheap, friendly and has a variety of climates.

Morocco is also overrated, because of the creepy hassles foreigners face there. Depends on where you go. Fez is much better than Marrakech, and Casablanca is OK.

HKG could definitely be done on the cheap if you book through Airbnb or get a private hostel room, which would be of high quality not to mention safe.

Lot of the street food, grocery stores, restaurants and shopping could be done at great bargain prices too. One can take public transportation into the city via the metro and then a cheaper cab to your hotel at the final stop.

On the flip side,
HKG is also a very fun & rewarding place to bleed money as that's where it can get expensive if you want to go out, party, and eat at even more glamorous restaurants while staying in a super lit up pad/hotel.

For clothes shopping, it's a great place to get high quality suits and other name brands you might not be able to find in say North America, Europe, or other parts of Asia.

For those living there, yeah I could see the commercial and residential rent prices to be very pricey though it's at least a great place to make $$ too with all the opportunities there.

The internet cost calculator might rate HK as a place that's say for example more $$ than Rio de Janeiro though I just think HK is a much better value for what you pay.

Man, Portugal is dirty cheap, research it. Everything , from housing to food, to transport to mobile phone bills. Lisbon may not be that much cheap, but everywhere else is. I doubt anywhere in Europe is cheaper by a considerable margin.

Portugal is cheap and safer than any of these.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Peace_Index It has worsened because of the crisis.

An excellent place to live if you have money. However I would not recommend coming here for girls, even though the quality is improving quite a lot lately, but not exactly in age groups that most guys here would pursue. Many 16-18 year olds don't exactly like much older guys, this younger generation is getting somewhat sluttier than before, I am 21 and I see clear differences even if sometimes there are only 3 years in between, this is probably due to american globalized culture, it's an interesting issue and if someone has any doubts I'll be happy to discuss by either PM or here.

Macedonia? A LOT of poor people, so criminality is also very high as you can imagine. I have been there when I was a baby so I don't remember but my parents told me there where heaps of homeless people and prostitutes in daylight.

Georgia? It might be cheap but it is not extraordinary friendly or safe. Especially in that region.

Morroco? HAHAAHA, very high criminality. I have a friend who went traveling there and got his camera snapped and he got almost stabbed.

I'm not going to continue. That graph is totally shit. Poor countries are cheaper but have higher criminality. If you want the best of both worlds you should go to new developing countries such as Turkey, China, etc.

Fear mongering because you over-inflated it by saying you wondered if anyone could return alive from some of those places. Are there more dangerous places in the world than others? yeah. But I don't think there's anywhere in the world you could go to where you have a higher chance of dying than surviving.

That's why I dropped that link earlier. The guy who has spent substantial time in every single country on Earth. And he's a middle-aged, scrawny nerd.

The dangers are hyped in most places. A threat of kidnapping does not equal a probability of being kidnapped, by any means. And even in the most dangerous spots you're most likely (like extremely likely) going to walk out without a scratch.

Fucked up shit does happen to good people sometimes though. That's life, I guess.

This chart is designed for travelling in general and has nothing to do with meeting foreign women. Portugal, in general is a nice place to visit. It has nice weather most of the time, is cheap, great food and people are friendly. But the women? Generally not attractive and not friendly.
