I've been wanting to post this for a while. Growing up the hardest thing to learn and understand are all the different types of social relationships a man can have and what you can and can't do ...where the lines are.
Let me break them down:
1. Friend - A friend is some you know from school, from your neighborhood etc. Someone you share a similar background with. Someone you have loyalty to. Someone that you'd help out at the drop of a hat. Trust and respect are implied. You shouldn't bang a friend's girlfriend, sister or relative. If you end up in a situation where his girl hits on you or if you end up banging it's your responsibility as a friend to tell him ask for forgiveness. If his sister or relative likes you he should be cool with it and let you bang her. It's generally not cool to cold approach though.
2. Acquaintance - (A friend of a friend) a 2nd degree relationship. Someone you've met through a mutual friend. You don't owe this person anything except maybe a handshake and a friendly greeting when introduced. It may be somewhat frowned upon to bang a girlfriend or relative of an acquaintance but in reality it is his problem to deal with not yours. The mistake most people make is assuming that an acquaintance is a friend. Learn the difference between the two.
3. Colleague - A business relationship. Similar to a friend because you have a shared background or interest. Usually someone you know from college with the same degree or through work. A colleague is someone you can call or network with when you're looking for a job. A good person to use as a reference. It's not ok to bang a colleague's girlfriend or relative without major consequences like destroying your professional network. It will ultimately hurt you long term. Tread lightly. Although if you play it right you can leverage this relationship and achieve great things together. Starting a business or hitting the bars and macking on girls when away on business trips together. A colleague appears like a friend but is closer related to an acquaintance.
4. Your Boss - A boss is someone who has power over you. He may be friendly and a generally good guy but make no mistake he is not your friend. He has no loyalty to you. His one and only loyalty is to the company. He will sell you out in a heartbeat to protect his ass and his job. Remember he has a family and a mortgage to pay. Don't try to bang his wife/ daughter/ secretary or any female associated with him. In rare circumstances a boss may do coke and pay for hookers for you. But this is the exception not the rule. Dating a boss's daughter is Uber-risky. I would only do it if she showed interest and pursues you. The rewards might be great but not likely.
5. Female friend - Same as male friend above but with the obvious distinction of possibly banging. Don't cross a female friend any more than you'd cross a male friend. The consequences to your dating life may be catastrophic. A female friend shouldn't be asking you for favors like fixing her car without offering something in return ...sex, dinner etc. If she has some social value to you as in always introduces you to her single/slutty female friends then it's ok to do a free* favor for her once in a while. A female friend can be a great resource. Be careful banging a female friend. It's rare that it ends up as a "friends with benefits" type of thing. It can happen but most of the time she develops feelings. Beware of feelings.
6. Friend's Wife - Obviously it's not ok to bang a friend's wife. But if you're in good with his wife great things can happen. Lots of party invites Carte Blanche to bang her friends, sisters, cousins, colleagues etc. The ultimate wing-girl with infinite pussy resources. Always be cool with your friend's wife. Always remember though ...she's not really your friend. Anything she may need or want from you should be handled through her husband. She's out to hook up her girlfriends with a good husband and not you with a hot girlfriend. She has an agenda. Beware.
7. Friend's girlfriend - Almost like a friend's wife but with a lot less loyalty. Since she's not married she has less to lose if she wants to bang you since no house, kids or money are involved. Don't bang your friend's girlfriend. Leverage your friendship and use it to bang all her friends. All fair game.
8. Friend's ex-girlfriend - This is a special category. If you want to bang a friend's ex you should have "the conversation" with him prior. You'll never know if your friend still has residual feeling for her. It's best to ask out of respect for the friendship. Be careful though. I banged one girl that my friend dated 20 years prior without asking him first. When I called him the next day and told him he was cool about it but in reality he still has residual feelings. He ended up trashing me to some mutual friends over it. Cover your bases and always tell the truth.
Feel free to expand on or extend my list.
