I'm totally down with '50s women. Back in college, I'd been known to leave parties early so I could scurry back to the dorm and catch '50s babe Shelley Fabares on "The Donna Reed Show," which ran 11 p.m. on Nick at Nite.

We seem to have deviated far from the reservation...

Yes there seems to be some value in these tips, yet I would imagine that the piece ran in 2013 in order to criticize the 7 tips as barbaric.. when in fact there would be some value in returning to these kinds of practices and expectations (even some moderated version of such).
