Rock and Punk bars/clubs around the world

Ive never seen anyone talk about them on here. It seems like it would be easy to stand out and be exotic since no boring traveler would ever step foot inside. Of course you have to enjoy that type of music and maybe have a rougher look to take full advantage of those types of girls. Any stories?

Where to begin. I have been going to them since I was 13. Any stories? Too many to count. When I was too young to know any better I was usually out of my head so gaming wasn't at the top of my priority list. Now that I am older, I usually take dates to these places and night game success is always high. But I am really comfortable in that environment, having practically grown up there. I have that look but I dont think you need to dress like a rocker or wannabe punk, at my age nothing is more pathetic than an aging hipster. I used to only date girls who liked good music, and this is where you find them. ONS are almost a guarantee. Have been to some of the best in LA, NYC, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, DC, Boston, Chicago, sort of a home away from home and I bump into friends. Sort of over it though at 38, and like going to clubs now, even though I go to shows almost every week. My favorite bar, Max Fish, recently closed in NYC so I am bummed.

I got an SNL in Buenos Aires at a punk bar called Salon Pueyrredón back in 2008. Ratios weren't great there and the girls weren't as pretty as in some of the discotecas, but it had good music and apparently easier girls.

I played at the 9:30 club in DC, it was disappointing. I didn't see many hot girls and mostly chubby girls or guys. The venue itself wasn't great either, the PA guys were horrible.

In Rome, London and Paris. A close friend was the publisher of a music magazine based in Shore Ditch in London. We would hit all the bars and clubs there and I saw a shit load of terrific music. London has an incredible music scene, all of the best acts in the UK end up there and play all the time. Brick Lane is the strip, in Shore Ditch. Great curry too.

the old location was on par with CBGB as one of the most historic music venues in the world. All of the greatest punk bands played it, and a lot of huge rock bands getting their start. I think the new location has denigrated into a run of the mill rock club. Most of the bands on the Dischord label that I like always play random places.

Right of the money. I'm a huge fan of russian rock and get tired of the club scene quickly, which is why I prefer places more alternative in their sound and atmosphere. B2 in Moscow, four floors with two halls for russian rock, folk-rock or pop-rock concerts, 80's disco club, lounge, billiards, restaurant, veranda, ect (and as you say, no foreigners):

About russian rock, you have to give Nashe Radio a try. Its chart is the major russian rock chart in Russia.

The main characteristic of russian rock is being partly folk-rock, with unconventional instruments used in addition to the standard electric guitars and drums (very often violin, accordion and wind instruments).Lyrics play also a large role in russian rock, and very often songs talk about national themes and russian literature or poetry.

I think that the Ramones began at the CBGB.

Willie de Ville at the CBGB. The most talented singer ever. RIP Willie.

The main problem with these types of venues in the U.S. is that they tend to be total sausage parties. I'm saying this as someone who has been a fan of heavy music for years. It simply isn't worth it to go to this kind of venue if your intention is to get pussy.

I would agree. Thats never been my intention in going to see shows, but its always been a nice consequence. Usually I think bigger cities have better crowds for pussy, with just people looking for something to do with a decent cover, and less hardcore music fans.

Rock bars around the world have been kind to me (although, I don't really go to the ones in the US). My favorite bar of this type is Porao do Alemao in Manaus, Brazil. Half the girls are dressed in black, while the other half are wearing tight dresses and heels.

It has a stage for the band, a mosh pit, some tables, 3 bars, and a smoking section outside. The place gets completely packed on Saturdays around 1:30, but the party goes on until 5. They play Brazilian rock on Wednesdays, which was always the best night. I used to go there about once a week. Porao has accounted for more of of my notches than any other venue, so there are too many stories to recount. In all of my visits, I almost never saw other gringos.

A lot of the ones here are decent with girls Vitriol. I think punk is becoming trendy again because I doubt these yuppies are really into that ugly sound. its cool for them to act poor or something.

How are the ratios in other places? I just wanna show off my Black Flag bars haha.

Vancouver has a pretty good punk/metal scene (the bars/houses were basically one in the same). Extremely cliquey though, some stunners, but a lot of chunky chicks that have had 12 too many beers.

my avatar photo is kurt cobain from a 90 or 91 Nirvanna show I was at on halloween, at a smaller punk club in Ohio. Kurt was dressed up as Barney, Krist as Slash and I think Dave Grohl was raggedy Anne.
