I spent a decent amount of time in Slovenia. I would not recommend it. There is lot's to see and do outside of ljubljana but as far as the women go and nightlife in general there will not be enough to keep you entertained for longer than a week.
I was thinking about passing through for a week or so in June on the way to Croatia, always wanted to go to Lake Bled for some reason. Should I not bother?
I had a great time, so if women is not your priority defo worth a visit.

I can make a few suggestions about the capital:
-Circus is a fine nightclub, not great but it's packed and lot of girls go celebrate out there.
-Top sucks hard, left the place after 1 hour.
-MetalKova is interesting, worth visiting.
Visit Lake Bled, Triglav, Postojna Caves...
Loved this country...man during june Ljubjana is the capital of pussy, we were sitting on terraces and I swear I have not seen a single ugly or fat girl there...and it always seem there is some band playing outside or some festival going on...really awesome.

Yeah sorry about that was pretty vague. Basically I had a great time because I did lot's of walking, sightseeing and gay stuff like that. I had a girl come visit me form Zagreb so it was jus very relaxing and I got a lot of work done. It was the most beautiful part of the Balkans for me although I wouldn't really consider it Balkan. It felt more Austrian than anything. I get the impression that the travel part of the forum is mainly focussed around women (I could be wrong) that is why I said I would not recommend it. All the clubs mentioned are damn right awful and the have this elitist bullshit where 50% of the club (locals/good looking girls) are on one side of the club and tourists and nobodies on the other.
Only clubs worth mentioning are Skeleton in the main square (but this was too immature for me) and the hippy bit Metalkova outside of town a bit. That was actually quite fun and very worth a visit.
THe problem with it overall is it is just way too touristy. I did not see any hot girls on the terraces like I did in Zagreb.

All of the students and natives leave the capital during summer; the first for their home towns and latter ones for the seaside. On the other hand, horny EU tourists fill the gap; especially German and Scandinavian backpacker girls are damn slutty. It depends on where the guy has been before and what he has to compare it to. If you are coming from the US or UK perhaps then you'd think places like Poland and Slovenia are paradise. But if you have had alot of experience across europe then you know there are far better options. I read some of threads on South America after my trip and I was like... have you ever been to Europe? Brazil was a land of 6's in my opinion.
The trick is to find a place where the average girl is attractive. You dont want to be hanging out in top end bars surrounded by the only 9's in the village who don't care who you are or where you are from. It's all so subjective anyway it's a pointless topic.

Well I got there from the 3rd to 8th of June, and I remember the tour guide girl telling us that a lot of students were in their finals or were finishing so maybe I came at the right time, but I swear the city was vibrant when I was there, a huge stage was being built near the university for Dropkick Murphy's and everywhere I went there were some kind of musicians playing with a good crowd around them.

Well, this weekend iit looks like it will be fucking raining everywhere in Europe...except for Ljubljana. Airbnb has rooms starting at €10/night. Sounds like a no-brainer. I plan on driving down Friday night.... Will anyone be in the area?

Headed out for Ljubljana Friday afternoon. About half way there I realized I forgot my passport at home. I decided to keep going and take the risk. Luckily there were no boder controls... Arrived at the airbnb apartment around 11pm. Chatted with the guy for a while. He seemed cool. He was going out that and invited me to come along. I declined because was dead tired and wanted to save my energy for the next day.
Daygame
Got up late and made it out of the apartment around 11am. It was overcast which was disappointing. Walked down to the center and grabbed breakfast at a cafe. There didnt seem to be many people down there. Finished eating and started roaming the area looking for targets. There did not seem to be much at all other than a handful of tourists. Eventually i came across some huge protest. I walked up to the crowd and looked for some hot girls to ask what the hell was going on..but didnt see any. Moved on.
Near a bus stop i finally saw a girl I could approach. She was walking in the opposite direction. She was a skinny blonde..kinda of shabbily dreased.. proabably a 6 ( 7 if you got her in a dress with some makeup) . Asked her where the mall BTC city was. She seemed genuinely interested in chatting with me. She asked what i was doing there etc..but it didnt really go anywhere. I think my timing was offl She said she had to get going.
Walked around for another 30 mins or so..literally didnt see one girl that i could approach. I finally decided there wasnt shit in the center so i went to the tourist office to ask how to get to the mall. She said that the mall was closes at 3pm so i wouldnt have much time there. Fuck. With the situation not improving I decided to take a break hike up to the castle. It was actually pretty cool and was free to get in. I roamed around for awhile and eventually came to the clock tower which costs 6 EUR to go up. There was a cute girl working the tickets. She alone and looked bored. Good eye contact and a nice smile as she took my money. I went up. Nice views and everything. As i was coming back down i was thinking of my approach to the ticket girl. Something along the lines of "you look like you are bored. You must spend your whole day on facebook haha". When i came back down, much to my disappointment there was now a dude sitting with her..fuck. Missed that one. However then an idea struck. There must be lots of bored cute girls in then shops down below in town. Time for a new strategy.
I went back down into the center. Saw a cutr girl inside an empty. "Lush" shop. Went inside and started asking her about products. Everything was good except the whole convo was centered around the products..all business. I picked out a few things. As i was checking out i started asking about where to go out at night. She seemed receptive. but before it could get interesting and ask her about her plans for the night, a line started forming behind me. The pickup gods were against me.
Moved on. Next I saw a fairly cute girl inside a chocolate shop.. She was about a 6 with short dyed red hair..not really my type but i figured it was good practice. I went in and asked about dark chocolate. She seemed very interested in me. Asked me where i was from etc etc. good rapport...We started talking about nightlife there. Once again customers came in ..but they stayed away so i continued. I asked what she was doing she said she had no plans...big smile... I said cool, well why dont you give me your number and we can go out and grab some drinks. She was delighted. Wrote her number down told me her name was Pia and said that she gets off work at 8 . I said cool ill send u an SMS later and walked out. However i quickly decided i wouldnt be contacting her. Although she seemed DTF and an easy Slovenian flag, i didnt want to lock in my entire night with her. Ive made that mistake before. In my town i can bang 6s any day of the week, and that wasnt what i was in slovenia for.
By now it was 4pm. I decided to wrap things up, go back to the apartment and rest for a bit. On the way back i came across this model shoot:

Before i hit the clubs i wanted to check out one of the towns gentlemens clubs, which I haven't done for a long long time. Originally i was planning to hit up Hardcore Club, but another member of this board based out of ljublana, ' MeshTryOut' sent me a PM and recommend club Escape. Since it was close to where i was staying i decided to opt for that instead. I arrived there around 2100. 20 EUR entrance fee.
Inside i was a bit disappointed. I was hoping to see some eastern european types...moldovans, serbians, bulgatians etc. But instead it was full of Dominicans.. Not that thats a bad thing..its just ive been there and done that in my travels through latin america.
I sat down and immeadiately started flirting with the bartender. As expected, not long after, one of the strippers came and sat next to me. I chatted with her a bit in espanol.She asked if i would buy her a ladies drink for 10 EUR. I told her no...maybe later. She told me that it would soon double in price. I thought about it and was like fuck it. I planned to spend some money here anyway. We chatted more. She finished her drink and then had to go dance. I moved over to some couches and chilled. After she was finished she came over to me again. She asked me for another drink. I said no. We flirted some more..typical stripper talk..but i held a good state and i think she realized i wasnt just a typical strip club pushover. Eventually she tried selling me a private dance. I asked her what it included. She says there was no sex..but i could touch her all over. I said nah, i didnt need that. I can touch girls for free anyday. She then said that she would make sure i would be really happy. I honestly didn't really know what that meant. But eventually i was like fuck it. I was curious, so I paid 50 EUR. We went back into the private room and she proceeded to unbutton my shirt start sucking on my nipples. Then she made my pants off and started blowing me...she was pretty damn good too. I told her it was fine. I just wanted to chill. She went back over to sit with the other girls.

I arrived to Cirkus around 11pm. Inside, I really liked it. It had a cool decor. The music wasn't too loud, and it had all these circus type performers...midgets, clowns, dancers etc. At the time it was quite empty, but it still had some decent talent. As a warmup i approached this set below and asked if i could take their picture so i could show my friends back in america what real slovenian girls looked like. They seemed happy to pose.

After the photo i chatted them up. But i kinda ruined it because i was hovering over the, for too long and it started to feel weird. Eventually i broke it off. Not a horrible warmup though.

Since I was rolling solo, my strategy was to start off early. I didn't want to be standing around alone. I wanted to have different sets located around the club which I could move around to. Then, as the night wore on, I would dial in and escalate on the most promising. This is how I got started:
1. Set of four girls at a table above the bar in the main dance floor. Opened with "Hey, how do you get into the VIP area?"
2. Set of two in the smoker's room. (One is texting on her phone). Opened with: "Hey, did you get my text?"
3. Group of five girls in the front room by the door. Opened with "Hey do you girls mind if I take your picture? I then proceeded to tell the girls I was a travel blog writer....lol
All three seemed to go very well. I now had three sets I could bounce off of.I was feeling good. The club started filling up with some stunners model types in dresses and heels. But then somewhere around 12:30 am, it was as if someone flipped a switch which made all the girls become bitches. I approached a few more sets, and started to get blown out pretty bad. I didn't even think I was doing anything wrong. I tried modifying my openers with more off-the-wall stuff such as " Hey my best friend just died. (Wait for response)...How long do you think I should wait to start dating his girlfriend?". I maintained good eye contgact, and body language, but it didn't matter. They were having none of it. Got a lot of back-turns.
I tried to circulate back in to my "base sets", but it wasn't working either. Set 1 girls were quite drunk by then. My target there seemed annoyed, and pulled away from my kino. Went to set 3, didn't have a target there, but they were still seated and not drinking. I couldn't make much happen. I was getting ready to go over to set 2, but I realized that my state was way down. The club was feeling claustrophobic. I felt that instead of pushing harder, I should just take a break and get some air.
I walked the streets for awhile and got some air. By then it was about 1:30am. I tried to motivate myself to go back in, but then the thought occurred to me to see what Club Top was like first. So I started walking toward it.
Club TOP
I had been to Top two years prior. Back then, I had a great time and met a model look alike without really trying. I had actually been looking forward to going back to it. But man, when I got there, I was very disappointed. It was an absolute cockfest. The guy to girl ratio was atrocious...I'd say 20:1. The music was blaring way too loud to have any type of conversation..especially with the language barrier. To make things worse, it seems they remodeled the layout. 2 years ago, you could go out onto the terrace, where it was quieter and approach girls there. But they seemed to have done away with the terrace, and converted it into a VIP area. I had a beer, made a couple half-hearted approaches, but I'd had enough. I walked out.
I considered walking back over to Cirkus, but I was pretty tired. It was a long day. I decided to pack it in and call it a night...defeated.
Final thoughts:
Although I didn't get my Slovenian flag, I still enjoyed Ljubljana thoroughly. Its a chill town, its cheap compared to central Europe, the people are friendly, and there appears to be quite a bit of talent. Although there wasn't much out in town during the day, I found out later that it was a holiday and most people were at the Croatian coast......Logistically, the city is great. It's very easy to get in and out of, and everything is so close by, you can get almost anywhere with a 5 minute taxi ride. Also because of its smaller size, it seems that you could be fairly easily get in well with the social scene there.
As for the girls, they didn't seem to be easier or harder than anywhere else. The 6's were easy..and anything above a 7 was quite difficult. If I had to do it all over again, I think I would have went out in a suit. I had gone just gone out in a button down chambray shirt and jeans...Cirkus had quite a few dressed up people, and a suit would have commanded some respect. Instead of telling the girls I'm from the Midwest, I would say I'm from "Los Angeles, Hollywood, California (stolen from G lol ) Instead of just telling girls that I was a tourist visiting for the weekend, I think would have said something a little more DHV..something like "I'm in town for a conference for the week." I don't think I did anything really wrong, I just didn't do enough...., didn't have enough swagger to capture their attention.
After everything, I'd still like to go back sometime this summer and give it another go.

I arrived to Cirkus around 11pm. Inside, I really liked it. It had a cool decor. The music wasn't too loud, and it had all these circus type performers...midgets, clowns, dancers etc. At the time it was quite empty, but it still had some decent talent. As a warmup i approached this set below and asked if i could take their picture so i could show my friends back in america what real slovenian girls looked like. They seemed happy to pose.
After the photo i chatted them up. But i kinda ruined it because i was hovering over the, for too long and it started to feel weird. Eventually i broke it off. Not a horrible warmup though.
I also warmed up with this performer for a bit. She was cool:

Since I was rolling solo, my strategy was to start off early. I didn't want to be standing around alone. I wanted to have different sets located around the club which I could move around to. Then, as the night wore on, I would dial in and escalate on the most promising. This is how I got started:
1. Set of four girls at a table above the bar in the main dance floor. Opened with "Hey, how do you get into the VIP area?"
2. Set of two in the smoker's room. (One is texting on her phone). Opened with: "Hey, did you get my text?"
3. Group of five girls in the front room by the door. Opened with "Hey do you girls mind if I take your picture? I then proceeded to tell the girls I was a travel blog writer....lol
All three seemed to go very well. I now had three sets I could bounce off of.I was feeling good. The club started filling up with some stunners model types in dresses and heels. But then somewhere around 12:30 am, it was as if someone flipped a switch which made all the girls become bitches. I approached a few more sets, and started to get blown out pretty bad. I didn't even think I was doing anything wrong. I tried modifying my openers with more off-the-wall stuff such as " Hey my best friend just died. (Wait for response)...How long do you think I should wait to start dating his girlfriend?". I maintained good eye contgact, and body language, but it didn't matter. They were having none of it. Got a lot of back-turns.
I tried to circulate back in to my "base sets", but it wasn't working either. Set 1 girls were quite drunk by then. My target there seemed annoyed, and pulled away from my kino. Went to set 3, didn't have a target there, but they were still seated and not drinking. I couldn't make much happen. I was getting ready to go over to set 2, but I realized that my state was way down. The club was feeling claustrophobic. I felt that instead of pushing harder, I should just take a break and get some air.
I walked the streets for awhile and got some air. By then it was about 1:30am. I tried to motivate myself to go back in, but then the thought occurred to me to see what Club Top was like first. So I started walking toward it.
Club TOP
I had been to Top two years prior. Back then, I had a great time and met a model look alike without really trying. I had actually been looking forward to going back to it. But man, when I got there, I was very disappointed. It was an absolute cockfest. The guy to girl ratio was atrocious...I'd say 20:1. The music was blaring way too loud to have any type of conversation..especially with the language barrier. To make things worse, it seems they remodeled the layout. 2 years ago, you could go out onto the terrace, where it was quieter and approach girls there. But they seemed to have done away with the terrace, and converted it into a VIP area. I had a beer, made a couple half-hearted approaches, but I'd had enough. I walked out.
I considered walking back over to Cirkus, but I was pretty tired. It was a long day. I decided to pack it in and call it a night...defeated.
Final thoughts:
Although I didn't get my Slovenian flag, I still enjoyed Ljubljana thoroughly. Its a chill town, its cheap compared to central Europe, the people are friendly, and there appears to be quite a bit of talent. Although there wasn't much out in town during the day, I found out later that it was a holiday and most people were at the Croatian coast......Logistically, the city is great. It's very easy to get in and out of, and everything is so close by, you can get almost anywhere with a 5 minute taxi ride. Also because of its smaller size, it seems that you could be fairly easily get in well with the social scene there.
As for the girls, they didn't seem to be easier or harder than anywhere else. The 6's were easy..and anything above a 7 was quite difficult. If I had to do it all over again, I think I would have went out in a suit. I had gone just gone out in a button down chambray shirt and jeans...Cirkus had quite a few dressed up people, and a suit would have commanded some respect. Instead of telling the girls I'm from the Midwest, I would say I'm from "Los Angeles, Hollywood, California (stolen from G lol ) Instead of just telling girls that I was a tourist visiting for the weekend, I think would have said something a little more DHV..something like "I'm in town for a conference for the week." I don't think I did anything really wrong, I just didn't do enough...., didn't have enough swagger to capture their attention.
After everything, I'd still like to go back sometime this summer and give it another go.
