I mentioned in another thread that I happened to be at one of the bars they were at. I chatted up the owners who were American and they gave me a free bracelet for later in the week.

I thought it was pretty cool. There was only one bar that wasn't 'real', per se.

We ended up at a club called M2, I believe, which is a legit high end 'real' club in China.

I would go with them if I were just in town for a couple days and looking for a good time.

A few things to keep in mind if you go for the local girls:

Most of them aren't shaved in the nether regions and have never done so in their whole life, so expect to see a jungle.

Most of them won't do BJs or give half assed ones at best. A guys dick is considered dirty even if you just soaped it up and showered. This is probably because China generally is a super filthy place.

Most chinese girls also won't take it up the ass out of fear that you'll destroy it and they'll loose their bowel control.

In general most chinese girls are quite prude, with low to no sex drive at all (unless they're drunk) and have a low stamina in bed, probably due to a lack of excercise (you rarely encounter the fit type of skinny in China).

Untreated diet related yeast infections (not the full blown kind) and STDs are common as nobody wants to go to the dirty public hospitals that are specialized in treating STDs (very shameful) and the local girls and guys generally prefer to go ruberless.

If you're into clubs there are enough foreign girls around though that get little attention from white guys, as most of them have yellow fever. These aren't the usual unkept backpackers which you'll find elsewhere in asia, but mostly young expats, tourists and students at local universities.

If you have an average western sized dick, the only condoms large enough for you are Durex Perfect Fit. If you're overly well endowed you should probably bring your own from back home.

You guessed right, but in the "real" China you'll feel very out of place, especially if you don't speak chinese.

Just head to the clubs mentioned before, unless you feel too old for that.

The bar scene in Shanghai is pretty hooker centric.

I'm in SH right now.

All I have to say is this city is pretty damn impressive. Haven't gotten my flag yet though.

Couple thoughts: I've had two girls buy me things and show me around the city that i met through pipelining prior to coming here. One was average/slightly cute. She met me at the airport, bought me a subway ticket to my hotel, and then bought me dinner. The other one was pretty cute; probably 6.5-7 out of 10. She showed me around the Bund and that famous garden area, she bought me dinner and whole bunch of other food. She even brought me a chocolate flavored tea when I first met her, then proceeded to walk me around the city for hours for nothing in return. Then she thanked ME after it was all over.

However, both of these girls did not put out. The second one doesn't really seem keen on meeting me again. I don't get it. Why would they go through all this trouble and then not put out? Did I do something wrong or not escalate properly, or are they just being friendly?

Finally I haven't checked out the club and bar scene yet, but probably will tonight and for sure next week. Any tips on how to pull from them?

Also remember even if they don't like you, they'll probably still want to hang out with you and be seen with you. It's very upper class for people in Shanghai to mix with foreigners. Most Chinese girl want to be the wife of a financially strong guy and are less looking for adventures like western girls. Life is really expensive in comparison to salaries, which means most girls below 30 are either living with their parents or living hand to mouth with room mates due to low salaries and high costs of living.

There are very few guys in China with western kind of incomes and most are just barely scraping by with huge loans to buy crazy expensive apartments (an apartment costs about 50 years worth of rent) looming over their heads.

Western cars are also really expensive now (about 3x of US prices) and a license plate in Shanghai or Beijing costs about as much as a car.

I never went the online route in China, but my best guess would be you and 2 girls partying would be a bad profile photo. For a white guy, just a good photo of you in a business suit should get a ton of bites, especially if you write on your profile that you're in Shanghai on business for a while.

In all honesty, to find DTF local chicks, online game is the worst way to go. I'd guess those sites consist of mainly chicks looking for marriage. Just head to the clubs, they're busy EVERY night, and if you find one thats not busy theres going to be another one five minutes away that is.

Shibby, everything that you say makes sense in terms of frequently better results likely coming from attempting to meet girls in person rather than online.. probably, already when the DHV / exotic value of the white guy in Shanghai is fairly high.

As far as spending that much time on the toilet: that's just Standard China-diarrhea. Everyone gets that to varying degrees. It just takes time for your digestive system to get used to the bacteria in the food. You can decrease the effects by avoiding street food, and GOD help you, whatever you do, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER there! I made the mistake of using tap water to cook instant noodles on my second night in BJ. Thought letting it boil it for three minutes would suffice...wrong. I was shitting the Yellow River the whole day, puking so loud, the girl sharing my appartment woke up literally thinking someone was dying.

As far as PDA being an issue, this seems to depend. Then again, almost all of the girls I pulled inside of China were in clubs, and they're not necessarily representative of most Chinese women. The only girl I pulled from a date in Beijing was fine with escalation and kissing in public, but maybe my experiences were just odd. One thing I would say generally applies to average (non-Club-going) Chinese girls is that most won't put out on the first date. I've also noticed -- both in China and with exchange students abroad -- that your average girl will not drink in public. Women who smoke and drink are usually considered "bad-girls". So it's best not to rely to much on alcohol for escalation.

The women here have mostly been treating me like a king so far. Nearly every single one I've met has bought me dinner or drinks, shown me around or did something for me for nothing in return. There was also an example in Changchun. It was at a club called Mayflower/五月花, where I was sitting with four other guys (all Germans) at a table outside. In general, however, I did not get the impression that anyone "worshipped" white guys in Beijing. Like I said, maybe it's a local thing, but it seemed largely neutral in my case. For my standards, I was able to pull quite a few girls (8 in six months, made out with another 15 or so), but, certainly, you could still get a blowout marathon occasionally if the girls that night just weren't feeling you. Usually, it was just a numbers game, combined with a patience, sometimes more, sometimes less. It also depended a bit on which club you visited.

So, yeah, it could be that Beijing is really different from Shanghai. I also find it interesting how most Chinese say how much they can't stand Shanghaiers. Basically, they've got a reputation in other parts for being stuck up, elitist pricks towards other Chinese, but are nice to foreigners. Almost every (non-Shanghaier) Chinese person I've met, when pressed on the issue, will quickly say "我不喜欢上海人！/ I don't like Shanghainese people (or is it Shanghaiers, I'm never sure on the right English denonym)!" with this “egh" look on their face.

True, out of 10 Chinese women, I've only encountered 1 who was shaven, and this was most likely because she'd been living in Germany for over eight years. Keep in mind, though, that this is something common throughout Asia. Neither the Korean girl nor the Japanese girls I've been with were shaven, either.

10Mbit fiber is rolled out in lots of cities by China Telecom, elsewhere you got ADSL and cable.

With the right VPN everything is solid.

Internet in hotels is usually crap / borderline unuseable.

BJ generally isn't exactly the most foreigner friendly place in China. Lots of anti-west sentiments and frustrated locals sometimes beating up foreigners in sanlitun.

Lots of scumbag foreigners there too, so that doesn't make it better. That doesn't deter the western loving girls, but they surely ain't going above and beyond for you like in smaller cities unless you're really rich or really good looking.

As for internet, I found it to be fast.

You need a decent VPN. I used Freegate for a little while which is a free one, not sure if its still around. But in the end I ended up paying for one. I used Astrill - not perfect, but gets the job done for a decent price.
