NFL player Riley Cooper used Twitter to apologize after video emerged on Wednesday of him aggressively uttering a racial slur at a Kenny Chesney concert this summer.

The YouTube video, embedded above, shows Cooper, who is white, decked out in his signature ponytail along with a cutoff plaid shirt pointing at a camera and saying he will "fight every n***** here, bro."

Aaron Hernandez in jail, Riley Cooper going all Michael Richards, George Zimmerman freed, Tim Tebow still not playing quarterback....tough month for Florida

Threatening to fight every nigger at a Kenny Chesney concert doesn't seem like a particularly ballsy statement.

I am absolutely sick at the moral judgmentalism in our society.

Goodell: "He will go through training as a result."

Its not about actually being against racism, it is about showing up in media outlets, showing off to others that you aren't racist.

As for him "going across the middle," think about that statement if you are against racialized violence against blacks.

"Marcus Vick tweeted that he would pay $1,000 “to the first Free Safety or Strong Safety that light his ass up.” A follow-up tweet said “… Who want to play on a team with guys like that?” Vick also reportedly called the Eagles player a “racist piece of sh*t” on Twitter.

Black players tweeted calls for violence against for George Zimmerman and the jury-no disciplinary action and the NFL response "no comment"

So I guess the NFL will apply the same rule here

Oh wait, this guy is white.......

Yeah I'm sure NFL players will not jeopardize their careers and incur outrageous fines over a stupid clown for a 1K bounty issued by Marcus Vick...1K he probably doesn't have.

That idiot shouldn't say things in public like that, but he really didn't deserve to have some other person recording that clip & releasing the video on youtube either. It'll still be hilarious to see him run slants down the middle for the sake of my entertainment though, lol.

NFL won't suspend him and neither will the Eagles. He doesn't have a history of it and he apologized. Can't suspend him. Why? Because you have to suspend all the African American athletes who do.

On the other side, he had some drinks and was angry...the truth comes out..

Bingo.

I don't understand why so many people have such a hard time understanding this distinction.

Nigger is one word.
Nigga is another.

They are used in different social contexts and carry entirely different meanings and intents in our vernacular. They also both have very different histories.

If people are going to complain endlessly about the word as a sign of a "double standard" and insist on how "we should be allowed to say it too", then the very least they could do is attempt to understand this distinction and actually apply it correctly. That starts with dropping the -er.

It really isn't that complicated.

As for Cooper, he made a silly drunk mistake and doesn't need a suspension. Marcus Vick is a moron, Mike Vick has already backed Cooper, this will be a non-issue by opening day.
