I am moving to Hamburg and I wonder if any RVF members live there (or will be visiting soon). If yes, it would be nice to meet up!

I got really lucky. I scored an apartment less than 5 walking minutes from the Reeperbahn, in a quiet side-street. [Image: smile.gif] Logistics will never be a problem from now on.

@Sourcecode: Great datasheet indeed! Thanks for pointing it out.
@Hencredible Casanova: Let me know when you arrive here.

So after a long day of work in solitude I went out for a drink at midnight. I checked out a few bars randomly. I can confirm the data-sheet: Everyone is just drunk. This place is super-busy, even more so than, from my experience at least, the old-town in Bucharest. (Not as busy as Lapa though. [Image: wink.gif])

Checked out a few bars and had a few drinks. Many hipster types it seems. Saw two Johnny Depps, a few dozen Zach Galifianakis'es and girl to guy ratio was alright, given that the guys all seemed too drunk to be competition.

I feel that I need a wingman here. (And in some bars, a gun. heh)

Muc - I hear the Reperbahn area is pretty live. What's the quality of the girls there like? I hear it has the best talent of Germany's big cities. I would go soon but I'm not trying to deal with shit weather. Going to fall back in Latin America and Spain til' Spring. After that Northern Europe is getting my undivided attention.

What bars did you go to?

Its been 5 months since I was in. You say you live 5 minutes from reeperbahn. Game or no Game, the torch is passed to you when it comes to data.

Indeed, I can probably write up a nice data-sheet soon.
Let's see, where have I been to..

3 Freunde, small bar, fits around 100, hipster-looking guys, girls in the below 25 range.

Roadhouse, live rock music club at Hans-Albers-Platz. I like the vibe there somehow, age bracket starts at 20 and ends at 85. I saw two cute girls and many so so.

Quer, opposite of Roadhouse, 90s music. Age bracket 20 - 30. Two levels. Downstairs more electro. Girls were alright but not impressive. But I get a slight "pick-up joint" vibe there.

Thomas Reed, seems great, young girls, good layout and size. But I was too drunk to write anything useful now, sadly.

Fritz-Bar, near Quer, seems very average to me. Some cute girls, but no pick-up vibe like in Quer.

Silbersack, near Fritz-Bar, age bracket starts at 40. Place looks like its 1980. Full of football-memorabilia. Crowded and crappy, but charming because of it. Perhaps a good place to bounce a girl to for a drink? Not sure.

Barbarabar, oppsite side of Hans-Albers-Platz, near KFC. Super-crowded, but easy to talk to girls. Good vibes there, electro music, beer, what else do you need.. Air maybe.

Roschinsky's, near Barbarabar. Has a fussball-table. Modern looking bar. Def. some cute girls there, age bracket lower 20s I'd say.

3-Zimmer-Wohnung, Talstr. Looks like an apartment. You sit at the kitchen table or on the bed in the bedroom. Cozy non-smoking bar with bad light. Possibly a great place to bounce a girl to and kiss-close here there.

I'll be in Berlin from Jan 2013-May 2013, which is close to Hamburg (a couple hours by train). I have some friends in Hamburg who I plan to visit, but I don't know when just yet.

If you ever plan to visit Berlin, let me know.

How's your German?

Will PM you, Muc, let's hit this shit together!

I have been living in Hamburg for 4 months and have done a bit of gaming. The datasheet you mentioned is quite accurate, although there are so many venues here (especially on Reeperbahn) it's impossible to describe them all. Many of them are just smaller bars though. Just on Hans-Albers-Platz alone, there are maybe two dozen venues next to each other, but most of them are too small for my taste.

Reeperbahn is a crazy place, it's the Vegas Strip of Europe, and within Europe, you will be very hard pressed to find a (regular, year-round) party zone like this one.

Maybe I will write up a datasheet.

Anybody coming here, let me know via PM! I plan on starting clubgame again next week, going out 3-4 nights a week. Any questions, let me know as well.

I thought I'd bump my own thread after spending some time on RoK last night. It's always good to meet up with folks who think like us. Let me know if you're visiting or living in Hamburg. (I'm in my 30s btw.)

It's not like Eastern Europe which I'd prefer any day in terms of nightlife, but it's great for west-european standards.

Anyone still in Hamburg? I'm a US expatriate and have been here about 2 years. 25 and speak fluent German.

Looking to hit up clubs/bars, wherever the least amount of tourists are. (Great Hamburg datasheet by the way!)

I'm still here. As of this week, this is officially my hometown now. If you like to hit some bars, I am always interested.
