00 Approaches - San Francisco
I'm going to do 100 approaches in SF over the next month or so. No particular style or rules, daygame or nightgame, direct or indirect, but I tend to go more direct.

I'm not a noob but I can't think of a better place to put this thread. Just got out of a couple month thing, so I haven't cold approached since May.

Some fun facts: I'm late 30s, but look younger. Good looking, but not male model so or anything like that. Living in SF has ridiculous logistics because of how small the city is geographically. Feminism is very strong here, and women here have solid game (there are no yummy dummies like in So Cal) - that said, the nut can easily be cracked.

Wish me dominance. [Image: whip.gif]

Wish you dominant luck!

I too operate from SF a few times in the year so I'll ask a few questions:

- What neighborhoods are you targeting?
- And what kind of chicks - age, race, social class?
- What's your standard approach - do you have a premeditated story in mind or do you just come up with something in the moment?
- Do you try going for the insta-date or just get the number and bounce?

Game is a necessary evil

Pretty good first night, 2 approaches 2 numbers and one makeout. Far better than I expected, details to come later.

Looking forward to this thread. Especially the double edged sword of feminist Bay Area chicks wanting to be dominated, but also verbally wanting to spar. Also any thoughts on SF friendliness for beginner's and intermediates? I kinda see it as a place you gel with or don't?

I find SF girls to be pretty laid back, more so than East Coast girls. There are a lot of introverted geeks in SF, including the girls. A lot of people work in IT or Finance. A lot of Asians.

Many SF women will call themselves feminist and liberal, but in the end, they just want to get along with people, not be confrontational, and they want to make money. YMMV.

Of course, there are a lot there a lot of homosexual men in SF, which eliminates a lot of competition.

Take care of those titties for me.

I wouldn't say that gels with the experience of most guys who live here, but I'm happy you have had a generally positive experience up here.

Attractive SF women have extremely high standards, so your "flip-the-script" game has to really be on point.

Wouldn't the high number of gay guys make women desperate?

Oh, I'm not saying it's easy or anything, but there are things I like better here than East Coast.

I'm not targeting the 8-10's either. I'm a 6-7 guy. That's the sweet spot for my work/rewards trade-off I'm 48 years old, and think its pretty futile for me to target 27 year old 9's in the Marina.

Nonetheless, what I find most frustrating with women in SF, is ubiquitous female behavior. Namely, caprice, over analyzing, poor judgement, etc.

Take care of those titties for me.

There are way more straight men 20-45 here than straight women same age, because SF is mainly technology, SW development, and finance. Twitter, google, facebook, airbnb, pinterest, reddit, yelp are all here. The gay factor doesn't help much because there are just as many lesbians as gay men.

But I don't want to derail the thread too much talking about what makes it hard - excuses are for unmotivated people, not guys like us.

What spots are you hitting up? SF is entirely about venue choice based on your look/vibe/girls of interest.

You can come in here and pull nothing or come in and mop up hitting the right spots. Logistics here are locked in, venue choice is in the thousands so that's where guy get blown out.

Sorry for the response time, I've done about 25 approaches, got one number and one bang (on the D2). The chick lives in the "gay leather" area of SOMA, lolzz. I'll try to update with some details.

I go out on Polk, and in the TL, mainly. I'd probably do better downtown/Union Sq.

Hate the marina, but it's probably the optimal place to get solid notches. I went out in the Haight last night (lower and upper) and it was absolutely horrible. It was so bad I couldn't believe it was a Saturday night. One block of Polk is better than 10 blocks in the Haight.

Do you have any recommendations, WestCoast? As for my look, girls almost always tell me I have a "New York" look when I'm dressed down, and sometimes a "European" look when dressed-up. I get a shit ton of IOIs, but I am blowing up a lot of sets due to rusty/bad game.

I used to live in the Haight, and you're right about not much going on there at night (upper Haight is for day game). The better nightlife scene is actually a couple of blocks down Divisadero (going toward Oak and Fell) in the Western Addition.

Madrone on Fell and Divis is one of my personal favs and usually fills up on weekends. They also have a pretty good salsa night on Thursdays.

There's also The Page (dive bar), Bar Fly (never been), and the Independent (music venue), as well as several very popular restaurants around. The Bean Bag cafe (also called the scene bag) is a pretty good late day/afternoon game spot with good wine and beer on the cheap.

Have you checked out the Mission? The Mission is pretty cracking. I and several friends have picked up chicks out of the Elbo Room. The 16th and mission area (Mission, Valencia, etc) is packed with bars and restaurants, and Mission St. itself has bars all along its length out to around 30th IIRC.

You may also want to check out the Broadway strip over in North Beach. It's full of scumbags and strip clubs (makes even the TL look classy), but it can be a fun time.

On a quick guess based on your current choice try Amelie.

Ameliewinebar.com

Lots of french girls in there.

What spots on Polk street are you pulling from? Lots of people go to tonic a bit further down (not on Polk).

It really depends on what type of girl you're looking for. Also yes day game in union square is a must (same with Delores park and Washington square).

LOL @ Amelie I used to go to the two bars around it all the time BFL, and Parrilla. Very familiar. They're both closed now as you prolly know. I need to pick up some new clothes before going to Amelie though, probably going to go to Union Square later today or tomorrow to buy some Zara.

I haven't tried washington sq park, but have been to daygame in Union Sq many times.

In and around Polk I usually go to Hemlock, R Bar, mcteagues, whiskey thieves, kozy kar, the karaoke place on california, sodas also on california, and formerly bigfoot lodge. I rarely if ever go north of broadway.

^ ha that's hilarious. So which of those venues do you do better at? That will help. As you know places like kozy car are 100% hit and miss.

Another one with mid twenties chicks = Novella. Down town.

Lots of dudes dressed decently but the game level is on the negative side so you could do well in there.

Trying to triangulate your personality/vibe.

Never been to Novella. I have pulled from McTeagues, Karaoke, Hemlock (hipster place and I am far from hipster as they come, but have SNL here while very well dressed). Pulled from Infusion Lounge, but didn't SNL. Also a couple of the total dive bars on Geary.

It really boggles my mind how important fashion is here. In San Diego you can go out in a t-shirt and if your muscles are big enough you will get laid. Here a lot of girls quickly write you off as a meat head and bail.

Can't think of anywhere else I have SNL from, except for cellar a few years ago and that was an experience I'd rather not repeat.

Kozy I feel like you can get laid there if you put the time in. I've popped in there many times around 1230-1 and seen several DTF girls but they're all locked in 1-on-1 with dudes by that time. The place is so fuckin disgusting inside and smells so bad I can't drive myself to hang out there for hours. The home less people out front of walgreens smell better.

If you do well with more hipster type girls go to blondies in the mission. It's not dirty like the haight.

I do better with So Cal girls, or East Coast girls than hipster girls.

I am a walking contradiction to everything hipster. I wear mainstream clothing, I almost never wear flannel or plaid, I'm jacked as opposed to skinny, I wear fitted clothes rather than baggy shit, I wear black, white, blue or slate, almost never wear earth tones.

I have never worn a hoodie or converse all stars in my life.

I do get good reactions from hipster girls sometimes when wearing a leather jacket but that's about it.

Went to Zara this afternoon and bought one blazer, two pairs of pants. They had a $99 blazer and a $189 blazer that looked the same on the rack. It was obvious why one was more after trying it on, so I went with the pricier one.

They have some good dress shirts but only slim fit right now and that is not going to cut it on my big ass shoulders.

Reactions: I noticed a HUGE difference changing out of my old leather jacket and wearing the blazer home. A few of those "our eyes just met" moments that I haven't had in a while. Notice girls visibly turning their head to see me rather than looking with more of a sidelong glance.

A couple of girls also went out of their way to sit next to me on the bus after first sitting in the back. It was one of those 'proximity' moves that you notice after going out for a while. Also noticed it because hasn't happened to me in awhile either.

Huge improvement from what I thought was a pretty bad ass leather jacket.

I guess I owe westcoast a beer lol

^ good shit bro.

The bigger question why didn't you open ?????

Any time you get "accidental eye contact" 180 degrees shoulder tap "just how are you doing today, are you from around here?".

If she is you just moved here. If she isn't well easy bullshit conversation.

You can cut out the BS if you caught her iRaping you.

Amelie is cool spot. Great ambiance but nicer for dates. I had a sendoff party there with a group of friends before a 2-month trip abroad back in 2011. The tapas menu and wine is legit.

Polk is live and the best spot in the city to hop around venues.

I have pulled in Elbo Room in the Mission. You want to go there during those once a month Brazilian "Forro" parties upstairs. When it hits, it hits Much better selection than those hipster whores you find downstairs.

One spot in the Marina you can't neglect is Matrix Lounge on Sundays. Nice hip-hop atmosphere gearing towards the high end.

During the week Vessel in Union Square can be hit or miss.

Honestly there's no spot in SF I've ever been to where I was blown away. Not even close. If you're looking for quality, your best bet is to day game in Union Square and for night time hit up the Marina.

Yeah agree with the above. All the spots in SF are basically for 6-7's.

If you want to go higher than that you really have to kill yourself with day game in the Bay Area (expansion out past SF).

The good news is once you do well in SF just fly to NYC and they may as well be dead upon hello.
