To open the door, or not

To open the door, or not

Lately I have come to question the utility, or not, of opening the door for the woman. For the record I am from Mexico so what I see is a social custom in which women expect you to open and hold the car door as a gentleman.

No, the way I see it, if you do it from the beginning, without her earning anything for that, you DHV her. But, do you necessarily DLV yourself?

Not opening the door makes you different. Women I have talked to, of course, say that you should open the door, and not opening it will put you into the jerk category. Game precepts call you to be a jerk rather than not, ergo, not opening the door until she earns it.

But, would that apply in catholic, more conseravite latin societies outsiede of USA and western europe?

I hold doors open for people whether they are a woman or not. It's just being polite, no need to overthink it.

It doesn't mean I'll go out of my way to do it.

But to avoid holding a door open for someone when it's easy to just because she's a woman and you don't want to come off beta I think is stupid.

We have talked about this a lot.

I actually do open doors for girls I am on dates with because I feel it makes me different than your average jerkoff.

I think you just have to do what you want to do.

Whenever you go down the "DVH" "HVT" "HBO" "ESPN" route you are overthinking it.

I honestly don't think it matters.

Ask yourself this, if George Kloony or Leonardo Depricio opened a door for a girl do you think it would turn her off?

Make yourself a better man and these little details are insignificant.

Good post on the matter:

I open doors and do most of that other psuedo-chivalrous bullshit. I do it because it helps me keep the frame of "grown ass man" that differentiates me from all the bros and effeminate manginas.

There are certain things that I just do. I open doors, hold out chairs, help her put on her coat, buy the first round (why I pay in cash), sometimes I order for her. I never look for her approval in these things. I don't even acknowledge that I've done anything out of the ordinary.

Open the damn door.

I open the door for dimes, old ladies and anyone walking up behind me and it hasn't prevented me from getting laid.

You're overthinking it.

Opening a door for a girl is great too to smack their ass as they bend over to get into your car. Or you can grab their waist and pull them in for a kiss.

You can be chivalrous without being a white knight or beta.

Actually, some girls get turned on by the old way.

It's all in how you do it.

I do it in a way that tells them

"You may enter, because I permit it to be so"

It's like if you were the owner of the club and you are trying to be polite to your guests.

Agreed.

Just don't make a big deal about it, don't do it because she's a woman and you want to get with her, do it because you'd do the same for anyone.

If I hold the door open for a chick, they'll usually say thanks, and if I wanna get a laugh out of the girl I'll just say something like 'Yeahhh, I'm pretty much a gentleman' in a cocky tone, just to let her know that it's no big deal.

Just keep it fluid. I am Canadian though so we are just polite like that in general. I hold the door open for girls when I am out with becomes more times then not I am one step ahead of them anyway leading the path to some place were going to have fun in. I hold it open for old people and others whom do it for me and say thanks.

I don't hold it open for random iPhone holding broads though haha.

If you're leading you'll naturally open doors for them because you'll be half a step ahead. It's part of guiding them where you want them to go. A nice subtle form of dominance - if you do it right.
