Fellow RooshV Forum Members,
My country has slowly started to accept radical feminism. How can I stop its propagation?
After a rape case caused massive public outrage last year lots of laws have been built to protect women. Among those laws are stupid ones such as punishment on vague terms such as eve teasing, which may not even include any physical activity such as groping.
Politicians have gone on apologetic and appeasing mode and created many such irrational laws. One I remember reading in a newspaper recently was that:
"a woman will be entitled to half the inheritance of her husband even after she has divorced him, in addition to the inheritance she gets from her parents."
The system of reservation, a horrible system that clearly violates everyone's right of equality, is based on presumptions that certain groups of citizens deserve certain amount of accomplishments (e.g. seats in prestigious universities, political offices, corporate offices etc. Let me repeat: accomplishments, not opportunity.) is very prevalent in India. I can't help but assume its going to be even worse, denying more qualified men achievements and handing them to the less qualified, just because of their gender, caste etc. That's not equality, that's discrimination.
How can I present these facts and stop ultra feminism from propagating in a country where LOTS of women are genuine victims and in need the soft form of feminism (true equality, i.e equality of opportunity and equality in front of law) but ultra feminist propaganda and laws are being passed in disguise of helping them.
