Get fat quick off of supplements

I'm not big on taking supplements by I have a bunch of whey and creatine that was given to me. It seems each time I decide to start taking it again I get stomach fat really fast. Does this happen to anyone else? Once I get rid of this stuff, I don't think I'm going to take any supplements outside a multivitamin and fish oil. Methinks the whole gram of protein/lb of bodyweight thing is a bit of a sales gimmick.

Civilize the mind but make savage the body.

Can't you get the protein from your regular meals? You can't weight more than 180lbs so that's 180 grams per day. 6 meals with 30grams of protein in each meal and there you have it...BAM!

Throw some milk in there too. Every meal I drink 16oz of milk. Thats 16 grams of protein.

3 meals with milk a day = an extra 48 grams of protein you don't have to eat.

God'll prolly have me on some real strict shit
No sleeping all day, no getting my dick licked

It's possible that you've been given dodgy supplements that consist mostly of sugars rather than what they are supposed to have.

Just because it says 'whey' on the box, doesn't mean it's whey in the box.

What's wrong with going natural (no creatine, whey, pre-workouts, "natural" test boosters, etc...)?
I understand taking essential amino acids and multi-vitamins, but the other stuff...why?

The same reason people drive to work rather than walk or ride with donkey and a cart...it's faster and more efficient.

Moma, I understand if you're a professional athlete and you work your ass off for 3-4 hours+ a day and you absolutely need to recover faster for your next practice/game, but for average people? Do they really need them? I think it's a waste of money personally (for the average person), but to each their own I guess.

We all want to reap the benefits of a professional. in the sedentary lifestyle we live, do we need to bench 300lbs or squat 3 plates? No, most cats are office bound.

With the body of a professional athlete (muscular), lizards respond a lot better which is a hell of an incentive. I'm at the gym currently with a friend and he is going hard. His motive is and these were his words exactly when I get swole, I'm gonna get all the bitches. No one has disputed that. Homie already puts in work but he feels the muscles will power him through end game.

I see where you're coming from. It's just that we already consume so many chemicals and I can't help but think that all the dyes/other chemicals from these supplements negatively effect us. I'll leave it at that.

I agree. OP, without knowing what you're using (i.e. if it's sugary crap or not), or if you're eating relatively cleanly or not, it's hard to know what may be the cause of your fat increase.

Keep in mind also, when aiming to make gains in lean muscle mass, there is always the trade off of putting on a bit of fat as well....and if you're not training hard/smart, then factor that in too.

I'm kind of a noob chiming in here, but don't people go through a bulking phase and then a cutting phase to reduce the residual fat?

With any reasonable diet, gaining fat is calories in vs calories out. All things being equal, substituting the amount of macros in a meal with equal amount of macros in a shake will not make you fat. Food is almost always better than shakes, but shakes can be really convenient in you're eating 5-6 meals and have a busy schedule.

Who actually eats 'food' anymore? Most people eat 'food-like products' which is shit. Everything that's packaged in plastic pretty much.

On topic:

Creatine is not going to make you fat.
Protein powder isn't going to make you fat.

Some whey supps include sugars as well, making you fatter.

What I think is more plausible, is the creatine making you appear fatter, as it makes you absorb and hold water.

In any scenario, if you lift like a beast, those two things shouldn't make you fat.
If you don't lift like a beast, why are you taking the supplements?

Look at % of the product that is active ingredients. Some of these supps are 10% active ingredient and 90% dextrose, which has a high glycemic index. There is also the possibility that you have an intolerance to whatever crap that accompanies the active ingredients in the particular supp that you are taking.

Most of those powder supplements, whey, etc can cause bloating and water retention. Just drink more water.
