IKE, you want a girl to be with you and stay with you because of economic reasons? You are certainly coming across that way in some of your posts.

There is nothing wrong with being with a woman for a year or two since you like the bonding. You don't need to make it a life long partnership.

I think that the OP's point here was that he wanted to settle down in a LTR with a girl in her 20s but he is in his 50s, so he is worried that in 5, 10, 15 years, she will flee him for greener pastures if he brings her to the US of A, which seems to be a pretty good risk if he has trouble making some assurances with her. And, even if he gets some of those assurances, all bets may be off, if she was not being genuine with him... and then the player is getting played.

@ BigNilla - and maybe even @ the rest of the RVF members, I would be careful in becoming too cocky and assured about your physical assets, attributes and charms b/c life events can sometimes take some of that away, expectantly, and yes, I believe part of the reason that RVF members participate in this forum is to learn ways to shore various assets.. or to create various back-up plans. Nonetheless, we sometimes get the sense that we are invisible and on the top of our game and value, and then something unexpected may happen.. could be an accident, but it could also be a health event.. and even aging can take unexpected turns. In those regards, even with all the will power in the world, we may not be able to get back to where we were, at the top of our game.

Yes, the OP is expressing sentiments that he is becoming less inclined towards continue to game and considering the LTR, and to each his own, and I can see why he would be worried about that kind of flight risk... and then he is left high and dry, in his 60s, having to start over again, with less energy, less physical assets and when he had thought that he had one lined up that he thought was going to hang around.

In that regard, correct me if i am wrong, but in my thinking it does not seem to be economic reasons as much as maybe relationship security reasons (even though there are economic repercussions if the anticipated deal goes sour) that are motivating and driving the OP in his considerations of these questions.
