New subforum arriving tomorrow

There will be a new subforum at the bottom of the page that starts a new thread for each post on Return Of Kings. This will allow you to make comments on articles using the forum infrastructure (comments will still be open on the actual blog).

I'd like to try this experiment for one month to see if it encourages a stronger dialogue, free of trolls.

Only flaw in the forum system is that the plugin doesn't disclose the author name. You have to click over to see who it is written by.

Is there any sort of forum policy against killjoy keyboard jockeys? Because the RoK commenting section draws those in droves, and the RoK forum may lure those tards in.

Would be interesting to do a trial run of the RoK forum with the RVF closed to new members as usual, and then run a RoK article on August 1, announcing open membership and the RoK subforum, and seeing how things go.

Nice.

The blog format for some reason encourages a lot of drive-by, shit posting and trolling that ruins the possibility for intelligent discussion. Putting them on the more heavily-moderated forum will hopefully facilitate better commentary on the article itself.

This is an exciting experiment. I've often submitted pieces wishing I could substitute the blog commenters with the higher-quality readers from the forum. That's not to say there aren't some great commenters on ROK (and less-than-stellar ones on the forum), but the forum--by virtue of its selectivity, environment, and culture--is still far out ahead. I think, frankly, the forum's discussions often surpass most, if not all, comment sections around the manosphere (and beyond).

Continuing to have comments on ROK will still permit the more soundbite-like conversations that you usually get in comments sections, but adding the forum should add an interesting dimension. I'm curious to see how this will play out.

Looking forward to it.

I was thinking that it would be great to also have your blog posts start a new thread because you often bring up things that would be good on the forum too.

I'm not sure if I like it....Part of the reason I like posting on ROK is that it attracts new people, including some wierdos.

But just as long as the disqus system is still active it shouldn't really affect the traffic too much from ROK.

Speaking of which, Roosh, have you guys thought about tightening up the moderation on RoK comment sections?

They can be quite the cesspools.

OK, you know what would be awesome?

If we had a forum where people (anyone) could post on RoK articles. But they would get to make exactly one comment on each article. And then regular forum member would critique their comment and decide if they get to post in the future (or not).

Would be best to introduce some modern day Internet stocks in the public square with which to ridicule IRTs and others.

For open blogs, fighting trolls is like the war on drugs. You ban one troll and another pops up to take its place. There will always be a basal level of trolling there.

But here it's much less because of the hyper-vigilant moderation.

Speaking of the comments, how do people who like to post rediculous comments even find the site? I mean you kinda have to be looking for that kind of stuff pretty hard to find it

I've noticed that the comments section of RoK has taken a dive in recent months so this is a welcome change.

Very good idea. I'd much prefer to discuss stuff with you guys than get sucked in by feminist chicanery. As much as I enjoy some of the stuff on RoK, I'm not a fan of posting there.

I am noticing feminist trolls on a few of the articles. That Sita is one annoying bitch.

She's particularly annoying because there's no way to engage her, she's just another brick wall with a thesaurus. She's just like every other feminist that's narcissistic enough to believe they can muster a complete picture on sex and gender without listening to men.

That said, though, I'd love to see her continue running on her hamster wheel over at RoK, we could devote an entire thread to analyzing her, I'm sure she'd really enjoy all the male attention.

What's particularly funny about her comment on McQueen's piece is that she busted in claiming if someone did that to her she'd simply laugh, despite the fact that she went on to spend hours claiming how horrible and awful it was just to write out the idea of it. It obviously bothered her intensely.

You have to understand something about feminists like this. They hunger to be validated as strong and independent by males.

She obviously wouldn't laugh it off if such a thing happened to her, but she claims she would because she desperately wants to be validated as strong and independent by men on RoK. Now she's furiously trying to project intellect. It's validation seeking behavior, nothing more.

The quickest way to get this feminist to lose interest is if you give her the validation she craves.
