Best Cities After Medellin, BKK and Manila?

What is everyone's opinion on the best cities to visit after
you hit Medellin, BKK and Manila?

I have been to Medellin several times and just returned from
a month in Asia.

Looking for my new conquest.

Was thinking Poland, Ukraine, maybe Russia. Not sure.

Thanks,

I can't say, because I have not been, but Wroclaw, Poland is somewhere I would really like to go.

Somewhere in Russia is also high on the list, as is Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Guess everybody has its own preferences.
Wroclaw is probably the most beautiful city in Poland after Krakow and has a lot of nice chicks. Bratislava is also pretty cool.

I found Medellin not as good as Bogota or Cali, the only plus is the weather.
Just for women there is no city in southamerica or probably the whole world that beats Caracas. Nightlife is alright as well and people are great overall, but yeah, it is probably one of the most dangerous cities for tourists as well. Merida comes close for women, is much much safer and offers a lot of cool activities. I wonder why people don't consider this.

I could also imagine living in Santiago de Chile for a while, even though it is getting pretty expensive there compared to Asia. Same with Argentina and Brasil.

The Philippines have much more to offer than Manila, same es Thailand and Bangkok.

I have been to Medellin 7 times......Bogota and Cali once. Medellin blows away the other cities. Prettier girls, nicer people. Cali felt much more dangerous to me than Medellin (poblado).

To each their own. Each of the posters here probably differ in how much
they want to hang out super poor areas. I like going to developing areas but staying in the nicer areas.

After seeing Cali and the slums of Medellin.....not to mention downtown I have no interest in the hood. To each their own.

I'm very curious to hear more about Caracas and Merida. Are you familiar with these places? If yes, then please post a full data sheet on them. Specially Caracas!

Gracias!

I have been two both places for around a week, but i think it is 3 or 4 years ago already. So not too much knowledge for a datasheet.
The first night in Venezuela/Caracas I went out with a local and he showed me some cool places. We went to a salsa bar and because I hate dancing I went straight to the bar. Two like pornstar looking girls approached me and paid for my drink. I went back to my friend and asked him what kind of trap this is and he just answered "Welcome to Venezuela!". So I went back, but they were up to leave, since they had to work the next day and asked me if they could come to my place now. Well I was staying at this guy, so unfortunately no. Anyway, got on the piss and had a crazy night and woke up with numbers in my pockets, on my arm and just everywhere. If you are blonde and have blue eyes there is no game needed at all. Next day I learned from this and always booked a hotel near the nightlife area... One of those girls came over as well.

Caracas:
I love the disco "Moulin Rouge". All kind of people from students to models. They usually have live rock bands there and in 5 minute walking distance are a few okay hotels for the low budget on the pedestrian street Sabana Grande. Problem is that you have to walk over and many girls are scared of this. It is not advised to walk at night, hence the empty streets. But you can do so and a lot of funny experiences are guaranted. Got invited for a spliff on the street by one guy from the favelas, 5min later got pulled over my cops and had a machine gun in my neck, had to bribe other cops with cookies which I had to eat first as a proof that they are not poisonous. Had to run away from some guys trying to rob me, got robbed etc... Yeah, it is dangerous, but if you get robbed you just loose the money that you carry with you and unlike the drugged favela kids don't kick the fuck out of you as well. Even met some people who got robbed but then they received some local money for a cab and hotel in the local currency. Well if you like it a bit more relaxed then there is a neighborhood where it is even safe to walk around at night and they have nice bars and discos as well. Probably the better place to rent an apartment if you want to stay there for a while. Hot women are everywhere and you can have them all. Nice parks and interesting history, so even not the worst place to spend during daytime. Local beach is close, but not that nice. Choroni is about 3-4 hours drive north and one of the coolest beach towns I have ever seen. Gets filled with rich citizen from Caracas over the weekend!

Merida:
It is a relaxed student town surrounded by the mountains with a lot of outdoor activities. Much easier to get along with English, but you should still learn spanish. The girls will make it easy anyway. Nightlife is 24/7, accomodation cheaper and better value and it is pretty safe to walk around, even at night. But like anywhere in Southamerica it is never 100% sure and people got robbed there as well. But just don't worry too much about it. Girls don't dress as hot as in the capital (guess like everywhere?), but they are still latinas and dress sexy and at the end of the day it doesn't matter how they dress, because of their perfect bodies.

Also locals are the coolest I have ever met in Venezuela and Colombia. So easy to make interesting friends and the funny guys will always help you to hook up. Great nightlife, great mentality of life and unlike Asia the girls are not only Asia, but also playful and will approach you on the streets.

Girls are as easy as in the Philippines, but just much more fun to be around with.

When I was there i spend around 1500$ a month traveling around. Eating out all the time, renting cheap hotel rooms and spending a lot on traveling costs. So would have been much less if I rented an apartment monthly, as everywhere. The trick was to change cash on the blackmarket, which gave you twice as much as the normal rate. Not sure about the rates these days and how much it is changing after Chavez.

Also Rio de Janeiro needs to be mentioned in it is thread. The best times are probably over and the world cup will fuck it up completely, but alone for the vibe of the city!

I'm also very interested in venezuela. Had tickets not been $1200 one way on my last trip to South America I would have gone. I have a close friend from maracai and wanted to go visit. Him and his family are great. I haven't met a ton of Venezuelan girls but the ones I have met have been sweet hearts and most of then were fine.

Venezuela has the highest murder rate in South America, I am not sure if its worth to see the "best women" in the world

I am curious but I rather be safe, man.

You cannot live like that, Papi Gringo!!! [Image: confused.gif][Image: confused.gif][Image: confused.gif]:blush[Image: dodgy.gif]

Gotta take a few risks, here and there, in order to have a life worth living.

Now, I have not been to Venezuela, yet; however, I have been to a few places and have taken a few chances in my methods of travel. But, even if you are worried, I am sure that the negative reports about Venezuela overstate the reality, and there are probably ways that a person (or a gringo, for that matter) can take reasonable safeguards and be adequately safe.

I've been curious about Venezuela for a long time! Are the girls similar to Brazilian girls at all? Or are they more like Colombians or Cubans? Do they use condoms there at all? If it is as easy to get laid as in Philippines - it might be worth the risk of getting robbed/killed. After all - Brazil is not the safest country for a traveler and is still popular destination.
I met a guy years ago from Venezuela, he was flying back and forth to the US making money on the exchange rate or something. I've heard this gig is over now.
