Women Brag About Their Fat, Stretch Marks, & Age

Check out these Strong Independent Women™... Their self-esteem is so secure, that they're making protracted image macros about how they don't give a shit what anyone thinks of them!
As one comment wrote, "Yeah, I cried reading this post. We’re all awesome as fuck, oh yes we are."
No, I'm not paraphrasing that.

http://gokaleo.com/2013/06/24/im-awesome...o-are-you/

Opening line: "Your ‘flaws’ do not define you."
Following that (with no irony intended): a bunch of images proclaiming "I'm middle age, fat, have thick thighs, stretch marks, flat ass, scars, saggy skin, cellulite, hanging pooch, etc, etc, etc... But I'm FUCKING AWESOME as SHIT! YEAH!"

I really can't recall ever seeing men engage in self-assuring circlejerkery of this caliber... Why are women utterly incapable of being honest with themselves about their flaws and shortcomings?

Quote from a chick I sent the link to:

"This is really sad. It is belittling and insulting. Not interested. Like, if they have time to create a site like that, they have nothing better to do. The entire site is like insulting my mom and all moms in the world. People like that should not live".

You know what? I'm all for fat shaming, but these women are on a site devoted to lifting, healthy diets, and change. Yeah, they're attempting to "take ownership" of their flaws, or, as I was forced to learn in my required ethnic studies bullshit class in college, "turn negative ascription into positive affirmation." But at least you get the sense reading through this that they're not pulling the Lindy West "acceptance" of their flaws as a means to avoid change. And that makes all the difference.

Attn: tuthmosis for your second instalment of the American girlspeak dictionary you should include the use of "awesome"

I've only heard it used by fat abominations to describe their looks, because they know deep down even they can't delude themselves into thinking they're beautiful.

I'd very much like to agree with you, but I have a project for you. Get on OKCupid, put your height as 5'3" and put out pics showing you're bald and a bit chubby.

Then tell me how many of these "acceptance" types accept you in return. Last I read, a survey claimed American women believed a whopping 80 percent of men on OKC were unattractive. So "acceptance" is a one-way street: you have to accept them, while they get to reject you. And if you're lucky the rejection will only be private, not a public shaming.

Sorry if I repeat myself with this stuff, but this is a pet peeve. Paula Deen types demanding Brad Pitt has become a cliche because it's based on reality.

Awesome doesn't always have to equate with good.

Awe is usually inspired by things that the mind has trouble rapping itself around. I wouldn't count out a gigantic waist line from that list of things.

"I pee when I run."

I did NOT need to know that.

Ever notice how all of women's weaknesses are celebrated and you're an asshole if you say something like what I said, but men's weaknesses are just weaknesses?

False confidence is easy to come by when all your peers have deluded themselves into thinking they're better than they really are.

I learned a new word today: Panniculus, the fat part of the land whales.

Except they're not demanding anything here. They're just trying to keep positive affirmations in the process of bettering themselves.

I was in line to get a drink the other day and the fatty in front of me was loudly complaining to her fatty friends about how she just wanted a tall man with smooth skin and a full head of hair. I laughed out loud. That's the kind of bullshit you're talking about, and I agree with you 100%. I just don't think the girls from the pictures here need to engender the same response, because they're taking action instead of whining.

In fact, they're not even asking for or demanding acceptance. They're just stating a belief about themselves.

Women's self-esteem prettymuch derives solely from the opinions those around them hold about them... Everything in these women's reality reminds them they're used up and out of shape, so they have to turn to eachother to temporarily shield themselves from that reality. How can you expect to better yourself when you're blinded by delusions of being "awesome" as is?

Seems like most of these are them listing their flabby bits and then listing that they exercise as if that proves it isn't their fault. Reminds me of those fatasses you see at the gym that power lift in order to give themselves an excuse to eat 10k cals a day. The 30 year bulking phase is the male version of fat acceptance.

On the meta level, that's the game. Fat and unfit women are trying to eliminate their competition by brining everyone to a lower level.

Haven't you noticed that your thin girlfriend's friends are all concerned with whether she is eating.

"Oh my, you are so skinny?"

"Do you ever eat?!"

"DOn't order a salad! You can eat that at home. Get something fun!"
