My experience in U.S. is relatively short, and other countries I've lived in have pretty much no cockblocking culture. And so far my impression is that if the girl allowed herself to be cockblocked, she wasn't really into you anyway and the chance you'd get much further was low. To me a cockblocker gives you a free and easy way to test whether there is some strong attraction between two of you - either built or natural. So far every time the cockblocking failed (i.e. the girl stayed with me, usually by just ignoring her friend) I ended up getting laid in an hour or so. I wish there was a cockblocker for every girl I talked to 30-60 mins. Would save me a lot of time.
