I was being sarcastic. [Image: dodgy.gif]

Solar is just a form of getting energy. If you have a battery bank, you can easily have power throughout the whole year.

Is this thread about a fantasy scenario really evolving into a serious discussion on the merits of solar?

An expensive battery bank but still not gonna run a fridge and ac or heat with solar recharge unless you have the best shit available in the world and still will have to give and take.

The original scenario is not real enough for my brain to process, I actually think about this stuff all the time.

Oh forgot to include wind. If you have a wind solar combo, you're set.

Also, you can successfully air condition and heat your house if you set up a hydro heating/cooling system. The setup is the hard part. After that though, you're set.

Yeah El Mech do it up, I can repost my post and those videos on your thread if you wanna get that convo going.

I have very little survival skills if I were just dropped somewhere in nature, so I'm curious what people would say for a real life island, and how they'd approach it.

Also the business side of things has opportunity, there's been a big rise in "eco-tourism" and historical re-enactments.

I'm sure I can find more random vids or articles too, I like learning about that kind of stuff.

I actually posted some survival stories in this thread too: http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-24827.html
