Ask for a detailed job spec and what is required of the role on a daily basis, to get an idea of their expectations.
They hit you up, so they're chasing you. It's like a girl chasing you, it's your for the taking if run don't fuck it up game.

I work in Corporate Business Development.
I was getting contacted by head hunter almost on a weekly bases.
Its worth noting: I just deleted my linked-in account because of all the unwanted emails and solicitations that filled up my inbox.
My experience is that recruiters like to collect your resume to put in their file systems.
Because the more resume they collect. The better they look like they are doing their job for their Boss and or Clients.
I also the old bait and switch trick has been used on me a few times.
I have been contacted with a very lucrative job offer, huge base salary with lots of perks and benefits.
A real dream job.
The first few times I was genuinely very excited.
The recruiter informs you have been selected and next week you will get call from the Companies HR department for a interview time. Please be ready.
The call never comes.
The Head-hunter calls you back and apologies, then goes on to explains that there was a some kind of “misunderstanding” and the Company just hired someone.
However, we do have some good news for you!
Because your available we have set up another interview for you to attend?
Unfortunately the pay is much less. But if you do us a favor and please just help out with this position, when a spot opens for the better job you will our top candidate that we will promote.
I then say “thanks but no thanks”.
“I never negotiate the hypothetical’s. Contact me when you have something more solid”
Not interested!
So to make a long story short recruiters, play games and will waste you time with bullshit.
You have to draw them out, be very polite and but firm ask for details.
For example if company-X has a job opening, ask for a contact number in the HR dept.
to do some due diligence regarding this company, to understand if this a good fit for both parties.
Because you are so happy with your current situation and do not wish to jeopardize it. But would be curious to learn more. I hope this info helps out. M

Yeah man it's even more of a bitch when it's in sales.
I got on the phone with a recruiter and he had told me that the job was 100% performance based. And was basically trying to get me into a interview tomorrow.
I feel like just saying fuck the job.
Nope.
