Analysis of the denizens of a certain annoying website

Sorry to disappoint all hoping for an epic takedown of jezebel. I'll leave that heavy lifting to 2Wycked.

Puahate.

To put it simply, these guys are Game denialists. They don't understand how to succeed in this world in any way.

So, they wallow in self pity. Humans like to build hierarchies and rise as far as they can. The Web lets people build dysfunctional hierarchies and ascend (descend) in them.

It's like a construction crew burying downwards instead of building up. It's actually harder, it's destructive, and in the end, it's useless.

I feel sorry for these guys and want to see things get better for them. The only way for that to happen is for them to accept some facts about life as a human being:

1. Humans have trouble assessing qualities in others.
2. They look for signs that suggest these qualities are present in others.
3. The process is flawed.
4. People have discovered ways of displaying signs that others associate with worthy qualities.
5. #4 is called Game.
6. You will never move forward in life until you accept the above.

I have a job where people can get away with mailing it in and 40 hour weeks. I work 60-70.

I hate Game. I think judgments should be made on merits. Substance over style is my motto.

In my last 3 jobs I was easily the most qualified applicant.

In the first, a guy who was considered a complete joke hired me and everyone else chided him for it. He hired me because I have a degree from an elite university. The others begged me not to leave but I did as soon as I could.

In the second, I went behind the scenes and kissed up to the people I'd be working with. They fed me the interview questions beforehand and I still flubbed the interview. The people I kissed up to had to expend capital to get the boss to pick me over another applicant who is lazy and lacks passion for the job. Later the boss pointed to me as an example of his ability to pick talent.

In the third, I flubbed the interview again. Instead of giving the jerks the answers they wanted, I answered the questions honestly. I got rejected. One person at the table went behind the scenes and pulled strings to bring me aboard as the last guy hired. Everyone hired before me was let go to make room for new candidates after the first hiring cycle. Honestly, the decision to keep me was made in a few weeks. The others were given signs they'd be let go after less than 3 months.

You can have all the merit in the world. Without a little Game you're still sunk. In the third interview I oversold myself to the person who ended up working to get me hired. I answered as if I could do things at that moment that I would only be able to do by the time the job started.

No Game, no life. Learn that or perish.

Although I agree with the point you are trying to make here, it's just a waste of time trying to explain or question why do sites and people like this exist. Same goes for the white knights, its just a complete waste of time.

Live and let live.
