What jumped out at me is the lack of cockblocking part of the story. From other reports I hear it seems as though cockblocking is not as big a problem outside the USA. I'm in Mexico City right now and got a flag last night. Me and the girl were making out heavy in this chic's apartment right in front of everyone for like an hour. We weren't looked at strange or anything. It was just like something normal and casual. Men and women hook up here and making out heavy in public or in a room with others doesn't seem to be any big deal. When she asked her friend to call a taxi for us so we can go back to my hotel, it once again seemed utterly normal and casual. Everyone knew what we were doing and there was no shit like "we're not letting her leave with a guy after she's been drinking". We left, said bye to everyone caught the cab and that was that. Would shit have gone down like that in the US. Hell fucking no. Her friend would've assumed me to be some creeper trying to take advantage of a tipsy girl and cockblocked the hell out of me.

Yeah in reading my original post it's a little piecemeal and could use some editing. I should definitely emphasize how the non-cockblock went down.

1.) I had known this girl a total of 15 minutes.
2.) Her friends were gone 10 of those minutes
3.) Upon returning, her friends saw that we were talking, immediately grabbed their stuff, and left us.
4.) Upon leaving, one of the girls touched my shoulder and said, "She's a good girl", basically qualifying the GIRL to ME. Talk about a role reversal.

I did nothing to qualify myself to her. She knew nothing about me except that I was a stranger and it was my first time in Paris. These girls were 7-7.5 in appearance.

If I had to summarize a key, contrasting difference in my interactions with French girls vs. girls back home, it's this:
-In talking to French girls, I feel that I have value just by being there, talking to her. Their reactions make me feel valued as a male.
-In talking to American girls, I feel that I have to portray my value, constantly, in order for her to stay there. Their reactions make me feel disposable as a male.

Hmmmm....pick one.

"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."

Anybody know anything about the property market in Paris?

What would a two room apartment cost to buy in a non-dangerous but also non-exclusive part of the city? I don't mean the centre but somewhere at the furthest edges of the metro line maybe.

Does 200,000 Euros get you anything at all or do you need to go up to 300,000 to get into a safe and decent area?

Prosal, anyone?

In Paris, in a non-exclusive but still enjoyable district (2nd, 5th, 9th, part of the 10th, 11th near Oberkampf, ect) with 300 000 €, you get at best a 35/38 square meters studio. Prices in those areas vary from 8 000 €/square meter to 13 000 €/square meter. If you go to more exclusive districts (best parts of the 2nd and of the 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, north 16th, south 17th), prices can vary from 12 000 €/square meter to 16 000 €/square meter, and even more (up to 20 000 €/square meter) for the prime apartments with views (on the Seine, the Invalides or the Tour Eiffel, ect). Exceptional location as Blvd Saint Germain, Av Montaigne or av Foch, ect, can be sold up to 30 000 €/square meter - buyers are Brasilians, Russians, Saudians, ect.

Even in good suburbs, prices are rather high. I am currently selling a family apartment in Saint Cloud (West, 6 km from Paris), in a 60's building facing the Racecourse, and I sell it 6 000 €/square meter (100 square meters).

Thanks for the detailed reply Prosal.

Seems Paris is as expensive as London and certainly more so than Nice or the South of France. I can get something small in Antibes for 200,000 - 250,000 that is half decent on a nice private residence but I have no idea how I would ever spend my time down here unless it was used as a holiday apartment only. Thought Paris might be worth a look but not at those prices.

Pajalsta. Yes, even for rentals, Paris is expensive. In the area where I live (Opera), it's about 30-35 €/square meter/month. Nice is much more affordable.

Euros or Dollars?

What is "something small"? Two bedroom, one bath? How big?

Is Nice more expensive than Antibes?

Euros.

Small means 2 rooms so a lounge and bedroom, maybe 40 msq to 55 msq.

Nice is more expensive than Antibes if you are downtown near the Promenade D'Anglais. Nice however is a big place so in the areas where the regular French people live prices come down.

Example:

Nice East - 2 rooms - 193,000 Euro
http://www.aparteimmobilier.com

Nice West - 2 rooms - 239,000 Euro - shared pool
http://www.aparteimmobilier.com

I was in Antibes today and the old town blew me away. Incredible old medieval city of winding streets and markets etc. Real French feel to it. Marina with mega-yachts moored up so money is about. More old people than a party place though. Cheaper than Nice and the Villefranche side of the coast. Place to chill out for half the year and drink wine in old street cafes, paint, and have a muse live with you or something.

Example:

Antibes - 2 rooms - 269,000 Euro on a new build - shared pool
http://www.villa-des-iles-antibes.com

Cannes: Disliked it the first time, blew me away the second visit. More beautiful people here than in Nice. Lots of Russian women living here. You MUST visit the film festival in your life. Trust me on that! Much more lively than Antibes and cheaper property than Nice. The promenade is narrower than in Nice but more congenial to meeting people. Lots of outdoor places to eat and drink. Friendly atmosphere. If I was going to buy down here I'd go to Cannes ( or Villefranche if I could find a cheap studio )

Example:

Studio - Cannes - 154,000 Euro - New Build - shared pool
2 rooms - cannes - 216,000 Euro - New build ( same complex as above )
http://www.cogedim.com

Cannes- studio - 28msq - 179,000 Euro - overlooking harbour
http://www.sethi-immo.com

Villefranche: The better side of Nice. I am here. I love it! Beautiful little harbour. Nice little beach. Old town with cafes and tourist shops. Awesome wharf side restaurants. Chilled place with everything you need but no night life. 15 minutes on bus to Nice. This place is where my heart is in France. Expensive property though.

Example:

Can't find anything cheap in the magazine I'm looking at but saw places down-town for 250,000 for a very small studio.

So in summary I'd say the best bang for your buck is Cannes. You get to live in a cool happening place ( no idea what it's like in winter however ) and will get a studio for under 200,000 Euro with a security gate and shared pool. If you had a place here you'd be pulling 'a Prosal' every weekend if you wanted to and be inundated with offers from girls who would want to visit. I just had a Muscovite chick book 5 days off work in late June so she can come stay with me. I'll be back for a fortnight at the end of next month so if you're on the coast hit me up.

I was talking to my second cousin about renting a place around the Champs Elysee. She quoted me something like 3000E for a small studio.

I told her I pay about 1200E for a 500 sq. meter apartment in L.A. and her eyes bugged out.

A small studio (25 square meters ?) near the Champs Elysées costs about 1000€/month (40€/square meter/month) on a long-term lease. If the landlord is greedy and if the location is exceptional (av Montaigne, av Georges V), he could maybe ask 50 €/square meter/month, but not above. Maybe she was talking about a daily rent x 30 in some upper-end apart-hotel.

Going to Paris this Sunday - Monday night for work. Will have all day Sunday afternoon to check out the day game scene. Les Tuilleries sounds good, wondering what else might work.

That cafe The Dude mentioned (Cafe des Anges) sounds good as well but where else might there be a quality late afternoon/early evening place to go dolo and just get some approaches in? I want to visit the Sacre Coeur church too as I've never been in that area, but other than that will keep the sightseeing to a minimum and most of Paris is basically like one big beautiful tourist area anyway.

I also would like to hit some of the cooler fancy hotels just to have a quick drink and see how grandiose they are (Georges V, Hotel Balzac, etc.). Any of them I shouldn't miss?

(FYI my French is passable but not great...but I can say most of the basic phrases and get into a conversation at least).

Thx.

Heavens no! It's 140 m².

Just punch "1500 sq. ft to sq. m" into goggle and it does the conversion for you.

tips nr 1.
Check out the kizomba scene, is very good in Paris and kizomba is probably the best dance I have seen as you dance very close to your girl, almost attached, all the clubs offer some kind of introductory lesson at the beginning of the night...

tips nr 2
also check out the latin scene, Pachanga club is very good on saturday..

In Paris you can meet girls from every part of the world (Paris is still the nr 1 tourist destination in the world) , it is not easy to mount them for sure , as a huge metropolitan area it is still a hectic place as all big cities ,but you can enjoy yourself ...

thedude3737, they thought you had a 5000 square foot crib in LA!

They probably thought you were a younger version of Hugh Hef.

Too bad it was your second cousin.

It would have been interesting to see if you would have swooped mad girls in Paris saying you had a 5000 square foot crib in LA.

Rue Montorgueil and rue Montmartre (2nd district) are great places for sidewalk cafe game. Dozens of options (rue Montmartre is IMO better).

I can only speak on Rue Montorgueil, but I will cosign that. Me and InternationalSwagger posted up there last June one Sunday afternoon and the scene was pretty mind blowing. We started doing some heavy day gaming which led to an instadate for me which didn't end until 4AM when she came back to my place and sealed the deal. French Moroccan chick. One of the better pieces of game I have run in recent memory.

Swagger ended up pulling a solid # from a bartender at some club which we hit up the next night and he sealed the deal with her.

Took pictures of the street talent that day but cant find them now unfortunately. Overall, the daygame on that lovely street led to a bang for each of us.
