Iron Man 3

So I was banging this blonde hottie today and when we were done --- I asked her out if she wanted to get lunch later in the week and she said yes and then asked me if I wanted to go see Iron Man 3.

The problem is that I am an Asian Male and I know (as in a lot of Hollywood films) there is also a lot derogatory and remarks and scenes, clips ect that directors throw in there for no reason. I find at times me and a WF hottie would be at a movie and suddenly the director throws in something really racist or rather insulting and we just end up looking at each other. Can we say "awkward"? I often wonder why did they even put that in there since it had nothing to do with the story??[Image: angry.gif]

Considering how the main villian is "Mandarin" and Hollywood adds further insults by having a non-Asian play the role ---- I was wondering if there is anything I should be watching out for or if we should just skip the movie.[Image: huh.gif]

Mandarin was British and white in this movie and wasn't even Asian. He is also an original character that's been around long before the movie.

I have seen Iron Man 3, and "Mandrin" is played by a white guy and there is nothing really derogatory in the movie towards Asians that I remember.

This reminds me of the Quentin Tarantino movies. He randomly throws "nigger" in every single movie.

um, no dude. nothing to worry about. do some research on the movie.

Tony stark is actually a great role model for asian guys. He's not super macho or hyper masculine, but he's incredibly witty and socially adept. He's also got a rebel streak going which, if asian guys adopt it, contrasts with the "rule-abiding" asian guy stereotype.

Your 'hottie' is the real racist. She thinks that you, being Asian, would be excited to see mecha armor in Iron Man. I smell [Image: troll.gif]

Seriously bro? You're not going to see a movie because you think there is some subliminal racism? You need to stop being so sensitive.

Yes, an ultra racially sensitive asian guy who is man enough to bang a "blonde hottie".

GENTLEMEN this is the unveiling of the previously hidden ASIAN RACE TROLL. Instead of asking for advice he brags about banging hot blonde white women while complaining about racial non-issues.

I'm thinking she gets turned on by all the action and explosions. Hell...she might get all worked up and blow you during the movie. Make sure you sit all the way in the back, and hopefully the theater won't be too crowded...HA HA!

I like your comment about Tony Stark and role model thing. Actually I do use him as my role model and sometimes not even paying any attention to "game" and just using Tony Stark as a "role model" has helped a lot.

Prior to Tony Stark I used to use Richard Gere's character in Pretty Woman which help a few times as well but I kinda got tired of it.

I can tell by how you brought up this Tony Stark role model thing that you must be Asian or have some deep understanding of it.

I'll take your word for it and take her to the show.

Well to be fair Ben Kingsley is half asian (indian), and

SPOILER ALERT Chinese doctors are the ones that were deemed the best to handle Tony Stark's surgery

What I don't get about Iron Man 3 is why didn't Tony Stark summon his army of suits earlier in the movie? All the time he was struggling and at the last moment he's like, "Oh yeah, I forgot about my invincible robot army. I should probably summon it now."

It wasn't random in Django Unchained.

That said, I don't see a slightest hint of racism in this movie. Even if the villain were Asian (and he's not, he's just inspired - I can't go further without ruining the story), I don't give a fuck.

Tony Stark is the ultimate beta to alpha transformation metaphor - he gets his heart broken (literally) and builds an impenetrable wall of armour around it.

Unfortunately in the movies he develops one-itis over Gwyneth Paltrow, who's playing a mannish, combative non-stop complainer. He buys her a 15-foot tall bunny rabbit with massive tits and she doesn't even say thank you?

Tony stark is a Sucka.

Billionaire genius, that saved the world gives his fathers business to his girlfriend, then spends the rest of his time trying to save her and tell her how lucky he is to have her.

Sucka.

I thought they were still buried under the rubble even when he summoned them, or did I miss an important plot point?

As per usual the movie waters down the comics. In the comics...well up through the 90s at least, Pepper (Paltrow) had a role in the comics to bitch at tony like a nagging mother for drinking too much or blowing off some project to chase another girl. Back then, Pepper was the beta orbiter. Oh how the world has changed.

There were a few very brief scenes of crews cleaning the rubble from the compound during the movie, and then finally Jarvis informing him that the rubble was fully cleared I think.

Plus, wasn't Jarvis broken until the end of the movie?
