EE v SEA some advice needed

Damn I am posting a lot on here lately !

Okay well I need some advice from the expats who are living in SEA or EE. I will be planning on launching my independent location income soon, if all goes to plan. I just have to wait a year or two in order to sort out my final stages of university and then I will be kissing this place goodbye.

I have added it up and I should have around £3000 to cover for the 3-4 summer months. So I am debating on where to live for these time periods. I am unsure whether to look at South East Asia or Eastern Europe.

To cover this I am a 22 year old male, 6ft, white British man but I get confused a lot for being from EE and South Europe. I am looking for somewhere with beautiful traditional women, good nightlife, natural beauty and excellent food. I find EE really interesting and am improving my Russian on a regular basis, which can help with some of the languages that are similar. (I.e. Bulgaria & Serbian).

Although on the other hand, everyone tells me South East Asia, Thailand, Philippines etc can give you the ultimate freedom and adventure, while costing less.

I am struggling to decide which one. So my questions are for those who have traveled and better yet, lived in these places.

1) Which countries can my money go further ?

2) The best weather and nightlife ?

3) A place which is unique and shouldn't be westernised and infected with feminists anytime soon, in general I am talking about political stability, I am aware that there have been changes to Thailand's foreign policy lately due to unrest ?

4) Just any cool stories you want to share, so I can get an idea.

Many Thanks in advance !

EE is more about quality, SEA is more about quantity (for my tastes, if you have yellow fever you might find SEA or Central Asia as having higher quality).

SEA has nice weather in the winter, EE is generally dark and cold then.

Different seasons vary in terms of nightlife, but generally nightlife EE cities, especially ones with universities, will peak in autumn and spring.

Ukraine right now is hella cheap right now. Much of SEA is also very cheap.

If possible, try out both EE and SEA. Both offer unique experiences. If you can do both or you know you'll do both in your lifetime, I recommend doing SEA before EE.

Interesting, although with the new Kiev government, do you expect to see the culture change dramatically across the country ? Or not for a while ?

I have never been to SEA although I lived in Bulgaria for a short time and have visited Belgrade. I am planning to head over to SEA to see what the fuss is about.

I've been to Bulgaria and Belgrade too, I enjoyed them. I'm in Ukraine now because it's cheaper and it's easier to find blondes here. I haven't seen much of a culture change yet, not where I'm at, perhaps Donetsk's culture has changed, that city right in the middle of it.

EE will be more of a challenge in both living and hooking up but for me the quality of women speaks volumes. I've never been to Asia but am actually making my first visit to Japan in 1 week.

It's cool you don't have a preference for white or asian girls. The one thing that will probably be easier in EE than SEA will be learning the local language (as compared to Chinese, Vietnamese, not sure how hard Thai is).

Nice. Any idea how the English teaching market would fair for a native Californian? Wondering if I would I be able to make a decent amount of cash in Kiev or Lviv

I'm in almost your exact same position. Same age, about to finish up university, starting a location independent business. I've thought about the exact SEA versus EE dilemma many times.

What it ultimately comes down to is that SEA is much better for starting a location independent business. Which should actually be your priority anyway if you want to survive in a foreign country.

The women, weather and culture will be a nice added bonus if you decide to live in Thailand or maybe even Vietnam.

I actually prefer EE women, but they're not going to pay the bills. Plus I'm a believer that living in a warm climate is better for bootstrapping a business.

More sunlight > more vitamin D > less depression > better business.

My suggestions...

Go live in South East Asia. It will be much more of an adventure for you. Seeing completely new cultures. Meeting expats from around the world. Warm weather all the time.

I am not suggesting this as much just for the women but more for the fact you are in your early 20's and while fucking girls is a bonus you need to broaden your horizons and experiencing new things.

It sounds like going to the EE is the easy option for you. Go with the slightly more challenging option.

Where should you live....

Thailand.

Don't worry about the political situation there. It is hyped up on TV and you will be safe there.

I live here in Manila and while I like it here the Philippines is not going to give you such a unique culture to experience.

If you want to party and fuck as much as possible stick to Bangkok. But you will spend more money there. The other option is Chiang Mai. I think that city gives you the best value in all of south east asia for your money.
