I am a huge fan of Jim Rome, I am sure there must be a few clones on this forum.
The Smackoff is the best thing on radio.

What ever happened to that show he had on TV, Rome is Burning? Oh yeah, he went to the doctor and they gave him some medicine that helps with that.

I listened back in the late 90s, early 2000s. As I got older I changed, Rome changed, and the show changed... so I stopped listening.
From a business point of view it's hard to get interviews with top guys in sports when you refer to them as resembling a rat (Mike Shanahan) or a horse (John Elway), or having beaver-like chompers (Aranxta Sanchez Vicario).
Rome's show is a perfect example of how an outsider challenges the status quo (by not kissing athlete's asses and not treating them like royalty), and then BECOMING the status quo once they get some success and notoriety ($$$$$$$$).
