Emotional Vampires: How To Deal With People Who Drive You Crazy

My dad is one of these. Superficially charming to strangers, always wants to be the center of attention when he thinks he might have an audience, and works hard to create a positive image of himself to others but absolutely shits on his family and is psychologically abusive. He has this Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thin going on. Any criticism or pushback is viewed as a personal attack and in days past he'd yell and try to physically intimidate you. He can't do it anymore since he's old as hell, but he still tries from time to time.

Although he is quite physically masculine the behavior seems pretty feminine to me.

MikeS is right, best thing to do is walk away. You have to cut toxic people out of your life.

why are you dropping blog-quality posts constantly? good for the board, but doesn't make sense to me.

Mozart could play the piano upside down. He didnt practice like that, his brain was wired in a way that playing the keys was to him like breathing is to us. Something that you do without even having to think about it.

2Wycked's output is like that. He eats wisdom and shits gold. Some might say it might be due to his education, background, or constant practice, but I suspect hes just an intellectual mutant.

He must have learned the effeminate behaviour from his mother. Or other older women when he was a boy.
