It's true the SEC college towns will be overflowing with talent. The caveat is that it's largely social circle (read: Greek life) driven. It also helps to wear boots and drive truck.

Avoid Birmingham.
Atlanta is not bad, but if you're not into black chicks it's value diminishes a good bit (you said you are so it should be worth your time)
New Orleans is awesome.

And seriously take my word on this one, stay the fuck out of Mississippi!

How tough is it to pull in an SEC college town if you are not a college student? Any more tips?
Social circle has been mentioned before and while it is pretty important in SEC towns (especially if you want the top-tier puss) I've been out of school for awhile and still pull pretty regularly, oftentimes rolling dolo.

I'd suggest doing whatever you can to look as young as possible. A lot of my success comes from looking the part and also dressing the part (the polo shirts, button-downs, 5-inch inseam khaki shorts) all define the look and essentially provide social proof (you look Greek) where there actually is none.

Also, if you want to try social circle game, it is pretty easy to start chatting up drunk college guys in the bar and getting them to invite you to their groups (I'm assuming you'll have scouted the groups out for women first). Just say something about Texas, Austin, or the Border Patrol and they'll think you're the most interesting guy in the bar. We're stupid in the SEC.

Ok.

But how should one dress in the south if they want to look like they are from a heterosexual Fraternity?

The look he described is pretty much the uniform for the preppier/richer frat guys. The Range Rover and BMW crowd. These are the guys that normally have the hottest girls with them and make the better grades in accounting or finance.

The other, rougher around the edges and a little lower income bracket frat guys will sport Wrangler jeans, boots, a button down or Polo shirt, and probably a cap. They're the Ford and Chevy guys and usually drunk. They'll be lucky to graduate with anything higher than a 3.0 and usually end up in marketing, management, or business administration.

Typical game day look for Southern frat guys (notice the baggy clothed, untucked shirt guy is being shunned from the group, they probably regret letting him in the frat):

That pic is actually from Carolina Cup which generally draws a bit more ridiculous attire than on a game day (only the pledges would be wearing the ties in most cases), but this isn't that far off.

Gotta go with what works. I get a lot more ass rocking the "Bama 'Bangs" ("Bang Alabama"?) haircut than I did with a crew cut. Chicks dig it in a lot of the South.

Good:
1. Ole Miss has some of the best trim around and all of the girls are fucking idiots
2. Shitty beaches with unsavory types gambling (fun to be had for about a night)
Bad:
1. Highest obesity rate of any U.S. state and has been for years
2. One of the poorest U.S. states and has been for years
3. Little education, rural, lowest social capital of any state
4. Largest town is only a few hundred thousand (Jackson)
5. The hot girls all go to Ole Miss. Miss State and Southern Miss girls are far worse

My experience is pretty limited to seeing family there (all of my extended live in MS) so I'm not the authority on swooping girls there.

I will say though that it's really a god forsaken state and the only spot I can see even being marginally fun is Ole Miss. Even then I don't think it's worth making that trip when there are numerous, and better, SEC schools to hit up.

I didn't go to a lot of away games, but probably 50+ home games at my SEC school and judging by the crowds that came in from these schools, these are the towns I would hit up first: Athens, Auburn, Tuscaloosa, Gainesville, and Baton Rouge. From what I've heard Chapel Hill is a great spot too. Mississippi, S. Carolina, Tennessee and Arkansas can be avoided.

At least in Colombia if you get into that high class social circle, learn the language, and have some money you can bang the best. I don't think that's enough when it comes to hooking up with the hottest girls. Most of them are sorority girls and REFUSE to get with non fraternity guys. Alot of them will only hook up with a certain frat.

Once your in then these girls get passed from guy to guy.

The funny thing is, once it's over, the REALLY funny stuff starts to happen. The girls, who have had the dicks of roughly 50 guys from 4-5 fraternities are jonesing for one of them to propose...completely inflated sense of self-worth. Meanwhile, so many of these guys have never had to approach a girl (always relied on social circle) that they are more than willing to wife one of these former sloots up a couple of years out of college (the traditional "Southern values" bullshit fits into the equation as well). I wouldn't doubt that a lot of the sorority girls that these guys marry have fucked more people than the guys have.

I think that's also part of the problem if you're trying to pick these girls up at a bar or whatever.

You have to be in xyz frat or know so-and-so from a frat or sorority.

The guys are also very territorial and since they don't know how to and don't appreciate cold approach, they won't look very kindly on anyone else for doing so. You try to swoop one of the girls they happened to drive to the bar that night and you could be in for some harassment or a bar fight.

Let me add a little first hand information. I live in Birmingham, AL. Someone earlier mentioned it as a place to avoid. While I would agree it's not a place to vacation, if you are here for work or just passing through, it's not a bad place to head out on the town.

Granted, I'm in my 40's, so my view is skewed from you guys in your twenties, but, just like anywhere, there are attractive women in this town, you just have to know where to go to find them. By and large, the women here are conservative, but they like to have a good time. College football is huge here. The best time to visit is in the fall (the weather is awesome during the fall).

Birmingham is a feeder town for people from SEC schools, particularly Alabama and Auburn. So, if you've been to those two campuses, you know there are plenty of attractive women coming out of those two schools. (And if you haven't been to Alabama's or Auburn's campuses, go to a football game in the fall). Granted, plenty head to Atlanta and parts out of state, but a lot come here. Also, Birmingham has its own large school, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which attracts a substantial undergrad population (probably 15,000), but also pulls in people from all over to attend its medical school, which means you have a sizable population of intelligent, most single women, working on becoming physicians.

Other things of interest. Golf is big here, google the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. I don't play, but I hear it offers great courses. Believe it or not, a lot of people here get into triathlons and endurance races (the warm winters provide opportunity for year round training). Great mountain biking. Decent music scene. Plus, Alabama's beaches are fantastic.

Let's talk logistics of these towns.

Which town has the best "set up", ie bars close to each other all on one strip?

Which has the most bar options?

Best food?

When are the last calls?

Which ones can you smoke in?

If we have this info, it is easy to cross reference and deduce a "best" town.

Roustabout, I have close ties to Bham and will actually be there this weekend. I haven't lived there in about 9 years and no longer know that many people there. What are the spots you'd recommend hitting on a weekend? I'm assuming it's all mostly downtown? I know there's one trashy nightclub - Aqua Lounge? (I saw what had to be a FSU girl stumbling out with some white trash guys last time I was in the area and had to do a double take).

I feel like there has GOT to be a few halfway decent swoop spots in that city, but everytime I go I'm disappointed. I've been out to Innisfree and "Nana funks" which had pretty marginal talent selection.

Can you throw out a few spots?

This is correct. Top-tier sorority girls are pretty much off-limits at the bars. However, they are much more approachable at the grocery store, pool (easy), and, so I'm told, Hobby Lobby in the days before rush.
Lower-tier sorority girls normally are with groups of girls who may cockblock each other, but the approaches are generally much easier and more successful. The girls are normally less desirable, but some good-looking ones drop to shittier sororities for a number of reasons (bad high school GPA, crazy, slut, addicted to laxatives, etc.)

G, I've unfortunately never been there, but I think the clear choice here is Athens, GA. Tons of bars, huge student population, and somewhat close proximity to Atlanta (and an easy to fly to airport).

Hell, if anyone wanted to make the journey I'd taxi you out to Athens just to experience the town for myself.

Downtown Birmingham is garbage. The bars are trash, and the area gets really seedy really quick. Is deserted as soon as 5PM hits.

Try the Highlands, 5 Points South area. Bars that are closer together with more educated, although more of a hippie crowd.

As a rule, though, I stay out of B'Ham (although I have to go next weekend). The neighborhood around the Iron Bowl may be the worst ever.

My Parents live near the bars on Tybee Island, GA

I agree with the info on Tybee Island. In Tybee during the hotter months, especially summer. Other beaches might have more shear numbers. But Tybee is a good small, laid back town with a condensed bar strip. Daygame on the beach is decent. Summer is where its at there. Girls come there hoping to get laid. It's probably not a first choice destination, but if its summer, don't be shy about stoppin in...

Savannah has a college SCAD. High girl ratio. Art girls. Bar scene is pretty damn good. Daygame in the park.

Carter is right. Athens has about 40 bars in a 3 block by 3 block square. Food is typical college town with some finer dining for when parents are in town. 2 AM last call, no smoking in bars.

I will host all comers in my (almost) centrally located hobbit hole.
