Tallinn Run-Down

Keep in mind while reading this that while I love beautiful women, hooking up with a lot of girls simply isn't a priority for me right now.

If I meet someone who I find extremely attractive, we vibe well together, and she intrigues me at a reasonably deep level, then well, that's a different story.

But I don't go for sheer numbers, aided by a flexible bang standard (depending on how much I've drunk), like I used to when I was young lad.

The hungry monster is satiated and kind of tired these days.

The Scene:

Tallinn is a funny place.

On the one hand, you'll have guys who swear it's ruined and bitch about the nightlife being The Hunger Games for Estonian pussy -- where starving men from all over the world battle it out every weekend to get some Baltic pie from jaded, over-hyped women in the medieval Old Town.

On the other hand, I still believe Estonia has some of most alluring and feminine women in all of Europe.

It's just that the scene has evolved. Standing around with a grin on your face, in a tourist-infested shit hole, isn't the cool thing to do anymore. The more attractive girls come out for special parties organized once in a blue moon. They hit up spots on the outskirts of town where the average Luigi doesn't stumble onto. Or they take refuge in select spots in the center that are still Estonian-heavy.

As for Estonian guys, there are many haters. Estonian women have been getting swooped away permanently by foreign men since the fall of the Berlin Wall. So they know how the movie plays out when a single guy from abroad goes around town, and some of them resent it deeply. But they're generally not going to get violent on you. They're more likely to exhibit passive-aggressive resentment. A Russian guy, on the other hand, will have no hesitation in throwing punches, but they rarely mix in the same locales or social circles as the Estonians.

I'm not going to do a complete tour guide of Tallinn's night life because after many visits to the city over the years, I just know the places I like, and tend to stick with them.

Levist Valjas: This is a late night drink spot in Tallinn's Old Town, in an underground cellar, typically filled with grungy hipsters, backpacking hostelers, and an eclectic mix of alcohol-seeking refugees from the other nightlife spots that close down around 3am.

I have a love-hate relationship with this bar. Love -- because for whatever reason, it's the place where the skinny-jean wearing, angst-ridden hipster girl I love so much, tends to go to when she wants to get laid for the night.

I've met and taken home several girls from here while staying in Tallinn. One of them actually told her friends she'll be right back. Left with me straight to my bedroom. After the dirty deed, we returned to the bar, where she re-joined her now suspicious-looking male friend back on the couch.

Bottom line: It's filled with drunks. Place is built for chatting & smoking, not dancing. And there's a steady flow of girls in and out from 2am to 5am on weekends. But you'll have to wade through a messy crowd to find a cute girl for the night, and don't expect to find stunning women.

Venus Club: A mainstream meat-market for the upper 20s and 30s crowd. The clientel tends to be people who don't live in the center of Tallinn and come from the outskirts for a special night on the town. This is Tallinn's version of the bridge & tunnel crowd.

If you know anything about Estonian mating rituals at night, it usually consists of the guy getting sloppy drunk, stumbling over to a woman he vaguely knows somehow, shoving his tongue into her mouth after a brief chat, then dragging her home at around 5am.

That's how it goes down at Venus Club. This is the spot where I've had women grab and claw at me, their boyfriends try to throw down with me on the middle of the dance floor while Michael Jackson plays in the background, and I always swear to never go back to again.

Bottom line: It's not my style, but if you have high energy game and don't mind it a little bit trashy with an older crowd, you may like this place.

Must Puudel: This is another Estonian-heavy hipster bar that almost always has beautiful girls hanging out with their friends.

The place is built to sit, drink, and eat in. It's not optimal for rubbing shoulders with the opposite sex. They do have occasional parties there though.

I have a Danish friend who lives in Tallinn, and he said this is the only place he ever goes to party.

Must Puudel is also the spot where you'll meet a significant contingent of women who are going home after they finish their drinks. You will not see these girls again later at a club, because this is the highlight of their evening.

Come here to get started, chat up your neighbor, and see how your night plays out.

Paar Veini is another bar, with a similar make-up as Must Puudel, just down the street.

Sinilind is more of a small club, open irregularly for parties, and is very popular with the Must Puudel crowd when they want to get down and dance. It's an easy walk and move to invite a few girls from Must Puudel to join you for a party at Sinilind down the street.

Telliskivi Complex: This is an old factory they're converting into the hipster mothership. The anchor tenant is F-Hoone, although they recently opened up a few other cafes and bars due to increasing demand.

F-Hoone is normally a restaurant, but occasionally opens up for parties in the evening. The crowd trends alternative, but being as the entire area is a cab ride from the Old Town, you'll get far fewer tourists here. I've met several women from here, and while they were certainly up for it, I passed due to lack of interest.

Club Hollywood, Prive, Studio, Bon Bon, Teater, Vabank, etc.: These are the major clubs around town, and as you can imagine, each has its own style, music, and flavor. But at the end of the day, they're night clubs blasting music. If you want jump into the jungle and do the screaming into a hyperactive girl's ear thing all night long, any one of these places will do. It's not my thing. Younger guys with a lot of energy to burn may like it.

Nimeta and the bars on Suur Kaarja: You may be tempted, because it's filled with people spilling out onto the streets, adequate amounts of scantily-clad young girls, and it's right in the center of town.

Personally, I'd avoid it. First, because the scene there is a cocktail of stag parties, clueless foreign guys wanting to make something happen during their 2 day stay, local Estonian & Russian guys with shaved heads who like listening to techno, with a liberal dash of young girls who are eating up all the male attention.

Most of the girls I've dated or been with while visiting Tallinn have come from meetings that happen at "side angles". I mean girls I've met while walking along a street. Or chatted up in a bar that's far off the tourist track. Or bumped into at a friend's house party. Or who I asked directions from while wandering around town.

I also think the long-game works well in Estonia. Meet a girl. You chat with her a few more times over the next several weeks as you meet each other around town. Then one night, you make sure to be at the same party, and things escalate.

But that's just me.

For example, I also know some guys who swear by Club Amigo on special concert nights. It's a hotel club popular with older Finns, with a reputation as a whore bar. But they jump up and down telling me they're able to meet attractive older women, up for a good time that same night, who you'd never meet in any of the spots I mentioned above.

And the end of the day, I think everyone can find their little corner where they feel good and their look & style is appreciated.

I find Tallinn to be a charming spot to visit for long stays when the sun is shining and temperatures are humane. The younger generation is also very English-fluent, so I have no doubt some of them prowl this board, after Roosh busted out Bang Estonia.

On a side note, I actually met foreign ex-pats living in Tallinn who knew about Roosh, and who we're Anti-Roosh in a big way.

And funny enough, these same guys were the ones who were the LEAST interesting to talk to. Or they were dating some of the fattest women in Estonia. [Image: icon_razz.gif] If any of them are reading this, get the stick out of your ass, man up, and join the brotherhood. [Image: blush.gif]

Pulchritudinous pussay (ABOVE)! THANKS for leavening the anti-Estonian mongrels with some friendly support and love!

If blonde women with beautiful skin are your thing, it's the place to be.

You don't have the immigrant problem that the rest of Europe has and you've got a mixture of the Scandinavian and Russian types.

One thing to note though, is your competition is pretty fierce here. Estonian men are quite good looking (no homo)

I found the people to be lacking in warmth and even though I spent two months in Tallinn, most of my time was spent indoors furiously looking for work so I didn't get a feeling for the night-life apart from once or twice; I found the place disappointing.
