Anyway, as far as age goes, look at testosterone levels as a proxy for horniness. "Average" levels for a younger man vary from 300 ng/dl to 1200 ng/dl. That is, 300 ng/dl is the level of a beta herb, 700 is a healthy horny young man and above 1000 is a beast. And these baseline levels decline by only 1% per year after 30. So the 50 year old's levels are only 20% lower than they were at 30. If he was a horny 700 ng/dl guy aged 30 he's still virile at 20% less than that or 560 ng/dl.

Thing is, the decline brought about by aging is small relative to the boost that can be achieved by lifestyle changes. This experiment shows that testosterone can be boosted by 20% with 2 minutes of "power posing" body language. That's like reversing 20 years of aging in two minutes. So basically as you age, clean up your diet, exercise, meditate etc and you will still be a horny beast at 50, 60 or even older.

I have noticed a slight decline now in my late 30s, but with right eating and lifting, I still feel like I did when I was a teenager and wake up with morning wood.

For a lot of guys, declining sex drive is not a bad thing: For the first time in my life, the big head is in charge of the little head. I still love and enjoy sex, but I'm smart enough not to chase it at all costs: I don't pursue women at work (a career-killer), I don't have to get my way when the woman clearly doesn't want to (another risky scenario, given western society's anti-male "rape" laws today, rape being defined as any glance the woman doesn't like!).

I suppose i'm one of the older guys here. I've gotten to experience the shifting power dynamic people speak of btwn men and women. I'm lucky enough to make good money, am still relatively fit and attractive and have all my hair, and because of declining testosterone and sex drive, I can pull off a non-chalant "I can't be bothered with an average looking girl like you" attitude better than ever. Meanwhile, the women I chase - generally early 30s - are still hot, but are becoming aware that their clock is ticking, so they have just a hint of desperation about them. I'm telling you - it's a beautiful thing!

Another advantage of testosterone declining from super-high to just normal is that my wicked temper went away.

I'm happier now that at any time in my life.

I agree with Dexter Morgan. At 45 I can no longer use my penis to drive a 6 inch spike into a tree stump, but I'm a lot more confident, composed and focused. I won't bang a broad 4 times a night anymore, but two and adequate sleep is what I'm looking for.

I think it's more noticeable over time if you had lower T to begin with. I'm 58 and yes I noticed a big difference in drive after 45. Diet and exercise do really help bring it back though, but you have to keep at it. I notice a big drop off in sex drive even if I slack off my workout and diet routine for a just a couple of weeks.

I spent over 30 years in gyms with iron, but do mainly a bodyweight routine. I typically do 50 pull ups/multi grip chin ups, 50 dips and 150 elevated wide/narrow and diamond push ups every other day, for legs I cycle about 10-15 miles a day. You really have to eat more protein, fatty nuts, dark colored fruit and veg as an older guy too, cutting out a lot of carbs. I use pumpkin-seed oil for salads, as it's great to reduce DHT and prostate issues ( helps keeps you from going bald as well). On this regimen I could bang every night if I had access to it, so for me it's more a problem of getting it rather than being able to do it ;~)

I`m approaching 45 and haven`t really noticed to much of a change in my sex drive.
I haven`t had my testosterone levels checked, but i have worked out consistently for many years and eat very well also. I have maintained good muscle size for my age and body type (Ecto/Meso)
I think that has helped. I also take Now Sports - Tribulus 1000mg daily so i think that may have helped.
But i think working out, excellent diet with good fatty oils, no smoking & limited alcohol has been the key for me.

You young-uns need to develop a healthy workout routine that you are consistent with. If you do that and don't let yourself go, you won't have many problems when you get older.

A lot of the problems guys have is normally from a unhealthy lifestyle, aka fatass couch potato.

It is easier to develop good habits when younger compared to changing your lifestyle when you get older.

Still can fuck like when I was younger. Quick refractory period.

BUT.

I'm not so horny that I'll put up with bullshit just to get laid.

If a girl is cute but acting a food, oh well. Shrug my shoulders and walk away.

(One reason older guys have tighter game is because there's no eagerness or super horniness. The attitude is very: "Yeah, your pussy would be nice but I can take it or leave it.")

The main thing older guys have told me is that past a certain age, it takes a lot longer to recovery. You fuck once and instead of being hard 30 seconds later like a teenager, it may take a couple of hours.

But then you just start taking Cialis and weekly testosterone injections.

"Growing old" ain't what it used to be. Hugh Jackman is over 40. Bradly Cooper has to be near that age, too. Tom Cruise is 50, I think, as is Johnny Depp.

I've heard you can test your testosterone level with a home kid that you mail in to a lab that takes a sample of your saliva. But from what I understand, your testosterone isn't something constant and vary widely within the day depending on many variables. So just because your test says X isn't necessarily meaningful. I think you'd have to test it at different intervals to get any meaningful results. I've always been interested in finding out what mine is.

You gotta get a lab to draw blood.

If you have insurance, you can get your test measured during your annual exam. I have my T levels going back to when I was 28 or so.

Most MDs can't deal with people who don't want a sickness fixed but instead seek excellence. Docs can fix a broken bone or treat a staph infection, but when it comes to optimizing human performance, they are ignorant.

Hormones are all about being proactive, knowing your levels, and seeing what happens to them as you age. Once the levels drop below a certain level, then it's time to take measures to bring you back to the desire levels.

It used to be that only the elite had access to this information. Thankfully the Internet has changed all of this, and there is a ton of info out there.

P.S. All those "paleo gurus" telling you to eat walnuts and take vitamin d to boost testosterone levels are at the anti-aging clinics getting a script for synthetic testosterone. They can't be honest about that, though, since it's be bad for book sales. [Image: wink.gif]

I took testosterone tests at about 50, felt drained with low sex drive. I've been using testosterone drops on my inner forearms for a few years, it seems to help both energy, recovery from exercise and sex drive.

However, alcohol ( red wine) seems to nullify the effects plus more if I drink more than half a bottle of wine.

I can get away with one glass of wine a day, but I always drink more ( 1/2 bottle) and that amount makes me puffy and sluggish.
