Lily Allen song about modern women

I never really paid attention to the lyrics until today [Image: mindblown.gif] [Image: laugh2.gif]

Quote:Quote:

She chose "22" as a single from the album, and later declared that, lyrically, the song describes a near thirty-year-old woman realizing she's at the end of her prime. The singer commented on the song's meaning:

It's more about girls that haven't figured out what they want to do with themselves. Especially really pretty girls. They can rely on their looks to an extent: people will pay for their dinners and drinks and they don't really have to think. And then suddenly it hits them that they're not doing anything with their lives and it's too late.

Amy Winehouse had a similar song about over-the-hill cock carousing chicks from her first album called "Fuck Me Pumps".

Some lyrics:

"Without girls like you there'd be no fun
We'd go to the club and not see anyone
Without girls like you there's no nightlife
All those men just go home to their wives

Don't be mad at me 'cause your pushing thirty
And your old tricks no longer work

You should have known from the jump that you always get dumped
So dust off your fuck me pumps."

You're a music/movie snob. I know it wouldn't be cool for you to listen to anything that's mainstream. It's ok hipster.

It's claimed that she had a male co-writer for the song. Anytime one see a woman doing some introspective shit, guarantee that a man is involved somewhere.

Yeah, she writes all her songs with Greg Kurstin it appears. Although I think he's the music side of things and she does the lyrics.

Teedub, one of my guilty pleasures is this chick from your side of the pond because i know she's an attention whoring manjawed freak who clearly craves cock. Anyway, i'm positive her mate Alistair is the one who writes her shit.

^ Haha that girl is always in the Daily Mail, our newspaper of choice in the manosphere, I think she must be fucking the editor or something. EVERY time she makes a vid, it gets an article about it. I was initially put off her as I just found her vapid and nauseating, but after watching a few of the vids, I find them at least watchable.

You're right, you can tell she absolutely friend-zones all the betas in her life (like the guys in the vids she makes) whilst fucking alphas. She's the epitome of the sex and the city 'career girl'.

New Lily Allen song, everyone is saying it is a response to Robin Thicke. It's pretty catchy but filled with feminist phrases like "objectify" (don't most female pop stars objectify themselves when they're young and then criticize the industry when they're no longer desirable - I've noticed this theme), "glass ceiling", being called a "slut" for having multiple partners etc.

As expected, all the feminists are arguing between themselves whether she's feminist enough? Whether the video misrepresents black people, is it racist? Is Lily Allen a good feminist?...etc.

I don't actually mind her, really, she always comes across alright in interviews I've seen her in and she's had a kid early so I'm not hating on her too much. Ironically, it was probably the 'shadowy white men' who told her "Hey Lily, do a song about feminism, that's so hot right now".

Ironically, she fits the stereotype perfectly, rich white girl who is in the industry due to nepotism. Plus, she still tries to look as sexually available as possible on the cover of the single! #solidarityisforwhitewomen

Actually, she's also being accused of racism and cultural appropriation by the gender / womyns studies crowd for the video. It even made the mainstream media down here, without it actually explaining WHY it was racist. It just was.

It also made a music site I read, and, once again, I rolled my eyes realising this privilege faggotry is permeating every sphere of public discourse.

Lily Allen and Cultural Appropriation

The comments are the usual crap, including comments that the site is sexist because a man shouldn't be writing about this women, which then results in a writer for the site linking to article after article written by women for the site, and it *still not being enough* to make them happy, (which is, as we know, why you shouldn't bother trying to please them). Articles on women are only valid if written by a woman.

You'll notice none of them replied to my comment, utterly sick of people having this conversation:

Quote:Quote:

If we're going to play this game, every artist of colour who makes records and videos is engaging in cultural appropriation.

Rock and Roll and Rap both use The Chromatic Scale, popularised by Westerners like Richard Wagner, and not the various five note Pentatonic scales native to the African Continent.

Other things white people invented:

electric guitars and basses
synthesizers
computers
amplification
microphones
recording equipment
record production
the production of electricity for mass consumption by consumers
photography
film cameras
laptops
protools
abletone live
twitter
facebook

Who does Kayne West think he is for culturally-appropriating Autotune, when it was invented by this guy?

I actually feel sorry for Lily Allen for thinking she could impress/appease/subdue these utter freaks of nature.

I've been pretty heavily drinking tonight, and I'm probably overreacting, but a few things have got me hugely riled today. Most of it PC/Feminist/Marxist related. Tyler Durden's utopia can't come quick enough sometimes.

Note that wasn't a Race Troll post, but simply pointing out that cultural appropriation is a fundamentally-flawed concept, as the process goes both ways.

Don't stress about the feminists. No-one's forcing you to fuck them. Whilst I dealt with some level of that in the workplace, they've been largely-absent from my dating experience, particularly this new generation of hyper-sensitive narcissists. I just come across the token 'girl power' types (being sexy, conspicious consumption). None of them would take 'cisgender' seriously, and they still want to be fucked by dominant men. Keep your frame, never give an inch, and you'll be right.
