It is pretty incredible how the new generation is getting more and more socially inept with every passing year. The problem is they are plugged into their phones, high speed internet, social media, and video games more and more with each passing year. I heard this same complaint at my college from seniors when I was a freshman. My class was one of the first to go through high school where everybody had a cell phone and high speed internet access.

Now, you can sit in your dorm room and emerge for class and meals without getting bored. High speed porn, youtube, social media, video games, etc.

Yeah, I am glad I went to college when I did.

I'd even consider t anti-cuckolding - shouting at girls for talking about post-gaming at non-affiliated frats. This bitch is channelling equal parts William Wallace and Lee Ermey.

Re frats: every sorority has frats that it will hook up with, and then frats that they only party with if the event is fun enough. With the latter, that typically means a huge outlay for party treats, or trashing the house (eg a food fight party). A guy could kiss or even fuck a girl at the latter, but odds are good he'll never hear from her again, as sorority sisters will frown on their sisters hooking up with lower status frats. At my school, there was even a friend zone frat - I'm not entirely sure, but it seemed like girls loved to hang out with them but not actually fuck them; said frat had several closeted brothers.

I never understood this whole fraternity-sorority relationship. If Sorority X girls have the obligation to interact with Frat Y guys, what do they get in return? Is it just cock or theres money involved?

It ensures that one frat does not get a monopoly on all the available pussy. Also, you don't get the one sorority that monopolizes all the social events and freebies like alcohol or whatever just because they're the hottest.

This does a couple things. When there are public events, like formals, your available pool to pick from is from the sorority that you're obligated to. That means that most people have a date, the competition for the more attractive guys and girls is lowered, and the fatties and losers don't get excluded by default. Even the fatties and losers gain some social status from their mutual company when they're coupled up.

If it were a free for all, you'd see entire (shittier) frats get excluded and a whole bunch of the over all less attractive sororities never even bothering to socialize in public, and the most popular fraternity constantly pulling ass with a few scattered "alphas" in the other frats.

It's sort of like what would happen if the government passed a law to make it illegal to marry outside of your county, excluding certain situations.

I honestly don't give a flying fuck about this.

I hate Frats. I hate Sororities.

I generally think that people who join them are losers (I've meet some cool cats who belonged to frats, so if you are in one don't get butthurt), it's basically admitting, "I can't make friends or meet people on my own, so I need to join this special group so I can meet people and belong.

F*ck that shit

What is wrong with joining a group to expand your social circle?

Especially one that is focused around girls, partying and fun.

Seems like a wise move, doesn't it?

That e-mail was pretty awesome. I was in the greek system at UMD back in the day and the Delta Gamma chapter has always been fairly lame with a few fun slutty girls (the author) which were usually black listed from the hotter sororities because they fucked the wrong girl's guy. I once went to a "dated party" event with a girl in this sorority and there were a few girls on the floor with their dates but the rest were standing up against the wall. I later found out that my date was fined after this event because we dipped off to the bathroom to bang.

For the guys that "hate frats," I can kind of understand where you're coming from, because there are a lot of asshole frat guys, but I'm not ashamed to admit that being in one made it a hell of a lot easier for me to get laid in college. There's also an element of social proof that carries to your post college days from being in a fraternity, which can be very handy for those first couple of jobs in Corporate America.

I've got nothing against that in principle. But's its not like they get to join because they are cool or someone of value.

It's just the attitude they had (at least at my school), it always seemed to me that they were excluding people based on what group they did or didn't belong to rather than based on who they were. But then again I'm probably biased, we did have some good run-ins with the frats at my school and this was in my blue pill days, so there were probably better ways to handle it.

Maybe I'm just hating, though I have to get some props it is a great hustle.

Nah, both the sorority and frat are pretty bottom barrel. I think her house is bottom 3, which is why she's so upset cause not many frats want to hang out with them as it is.

Going to have to agree with pacesetter.

I can see your point, and if I was an American I might consider it...but here in the UK it's just a free for all where people find their own way.

If they're socially awkward, unattractive etc. then they can't fall back on their fraternity/sorority, they have to get their shit together themselves, much like in life outside of the education system - isn't finding your own way the embodiment of the spirit of this forum?

That being said, here we can drink at 18 and thus if the uni girls aren't to you liking you can just hit up the local non-student bars. To me, it seems like college in America is more like school than Uni is here.

Way too many fucks, but she is successfully pointing out how fucking antisocial the sororities have gotten. All they seem to do anymore is squabble among themselves, drink at girl-only events, raise money for breast cancer, and put in maybe two or three hours of face time at local drinking or fraternity events and bail before even the sorority alcoholics get a solid buzz.

I'm surprised this is getting so much support. On the one hand, I like that she's calling bitches out for being awkward and weird etc, but on the other hand, she acts like frat guys are something special.

Sure, but isn't being having access to parties, a good social circle and young, easy girls a big thrust (so to speak) of the forum as well?

Oh yeah, no denying that my rationalization hamster is spinning at full force. If I had to do over again I'd sell out and join a frat no question, but like I said too much jadedness at present to worry about the plight of the sorority/fraternity.

Still a funny meltdown non-the-less.

For all the talk about how we all really love feminine women here on this forum, I'm shocked that this girl is getting any kind of love here at all. She's not the least bit feminine. She's the type of girl pump and dump was made for.

Being in a fraternity, I totally support this.

I'm so sick of sorority girls standing around in corners, being awkward, and not talking to brothers.

It's like its on us to make it a good time and they feel like they have no social obligation to talk to people. It's downright rude.

She's telling her sisters to consider something other than themselves.

She's not feminine, sure, but if her shaming works, it sure beats the obligation of entertaining a bunch of standoffish girls who only stay long enough to drink your alcohol and text other guys.
