Now I'd like to introduce the RVF members from around the world to this man who we call learn a few things from, especially you pillow-biting-beta-pussies looking a for an alpha male role model, here he is boys:

Ol' Don is a fucking loose cannon to say the least and his infamous big mouth often lands him in hot water with the usual pussy suspects: the mainstream socialist media, environmentalists, anti-war folks, beta males, French Canadians, Euro weenie hockey player who couldn't throw a solid punch if they're life depended on it, etc. The CBC even had to put a 7 second time delay on him during Coach's Corner over the controversial things coming outta his mouth. some examples:

Have to respect a guy that will go out on national TV and tell it like he thinks it is...Most " men " would cow tow to the liberals and the women. The only thing I never agreed with him on was his original view on us not joining the US in invading Iraq.

I also like how when Canadian soldiers die he brings it up every coaches corner and pays tribute. He reminds us every week of the stupid mistake we made in going over there and that there is a real price to pay for this fuck up we got dragged into.

One last thing. I love how he promotes canadians and pumps us up as much as possible. Canadians are so worried about looking cocky and arrogant. Even when we are really good at something. Nice to see a man promoting our country and our men.

He is generally indeed an alpha male with regards to what this forum and myself think highly of. In terms of hockey, he's a total homer for Toronto and shames other Canadians for not agreeing that the Leafs should be the country's ordained team. Sid never gets enough love for his toughness...there's a serious misconception that he'd shy away from a fight, no whats the point, he's the best player in the game when he's on the ice he helps his team win. He doesn't throw around his body the way Ovie does but maybe that's why Ovies play has diminished...they used to be talked about in the same breath now its not even close. Throwing around your body doesn't necessarily mean you're a good scrapper either. Check out Ovies fights and watch Sids fights, don't count the Canadian kid out, he doesn't need to fight but if the time calls for it, he can handle his biz, he's probably the best blend of physical toughness and hands in the nhl right now, if you dont' think he's tough, watch a game see how much abuse he takes, see how much he gives back, see how he rarely loses the puck despite being keyed on, toughness is shown in many forms on the ice.

Yeah, I don't remember Gretzky ever acting like that even when he was young.

Super Mario started bitching about the refs a little bit at the end, but at that point he had earned it. With 2 Cups and 10+ or whatever MVPs and scoring titles.

no question he was horrible for whining especially early on hes cut back on it quite a bit, nowhere near where he was but he can still get whiny on ya at times. The Pitt/Phil rivalry can get vicious so I think that match up in particular can bring out the worst in him. Theyre a blast to watch tho, when the flyers dont stink up the joint like they did this year. Should've traded for a real goalie Luongo, instead of another seive and then eaten Bryzgalovs contract. That signing should be a wake up call to all gms, never expect a goalie to play the same when he leaves a defensive system unless your team plays a similar defensive system...Bobrovsky, Mike Smith look like all stars but on teams where they had to face an onslaught of shots they were average to below.

I dont care a bout hockey but the few times I watch it when friends or relatives are visiting, any time this clown comes on air, I either mute him or zap away. If this is a public figure and a source of pride for canadians, then that is truly sad and is a testament of the emptiness of the culture here.

VP, if Don Cherry ran for PM, he'd likely get elected and when ever ol' Grapes kicks the bucket, there will likely be a day of mourning, maybe even a national holiday created, there will definitely be a lot of Canucks from coast to coast crying that day bud. If you aren't a fan of Cherry yet you should watch tonight's coaches corner. He talks a few minutes about female reporters in the locker room.
He makes some real points about how they are put on pedestals and how if they want equal opportunity they should allow male reporters into the locker rooms when women are showering or naked.
