Costa Rica trip in August.

Costa Rica trip in August.

I'm planning on getting back into photography as I was discussing some business ideas with some people in Colombia last week. CR seems like a great place to shoot because of all the great natural scenery. I've done some shooting in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic over the last 10 years, but never in Costa Rica.

I was checking some recent reports from people like this dude, who did some shooting there recently. Not the greatest, but there seems to be some nice waterfalls there for backdrop and I also know a girl that used to go there specifically for bird watching: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=...c5fb976b8a

Hey I am new to the forum but am loving it. Wanted to ask about CR. Me and some of my buddies are going there in mid September and will be doing a couple of days fishing in Jaco. But do not have any other firm plans.

Of course we want to check out the local Ticas but do not know the area very well. I have read on here that Jaco is not so great. Is that still the case? Are there areas near by to check out the local talent? We will have a rental car.

Not interested in the pros. I understand the Beetle bar is packed with pros and they mob you going in. lol Not what I am looking for.

I speak ok spanish and one of my buddies is from Chile and is fluent in spanish. And I am working on improving mine.

How about cell phones. I have ATT smartphone. Can I just change out the sim card in it when I get to the airport? Or should I just by a cheap phone when I get there?

Thanks in advance my brothers.

I might be heading down there shortly. Any people look at apartments, internet speeds and learning/ beginner surf for September/ October?

I was there last year, iPhone on AT&T didn't work. Had to buy a cheap phone at the airport, since they didn't have a sim card that would fit. I brought a beautiful Russian girl with me and spent most of my time with her, so I can't comment too much on the ladies. Although, at least where we were, I wasn't really seeing many other good looking girls. Drove through Jaco on the way down to Manuel Antonio area. I wasn't impressed with Jaco, but definitely get a GPS. Nowhere in Costa Rica I found has an address, but the GPS from the rental car agency usually has most places already in there. I speak very little Spanish and did just fine in touristy areas, but if you want some good local food, you'll be glad to have someone who speaks decent Spanish. The tourist restaurants had crappy food and expensive prices, but the local spots were amazing, even if they looked a little shady. If you want some awesome pictures, head down to Manuel Antonio National Park, it's unbelievably gorgeous and you get up and close with everything and there's some awesome beaches.

I was in Jaco a few weeks ago. Unlike San Jose, it is hot as shit there!! I mean like Miami heat.

As far as the talent, there are a lot of pros out there. Stay away from Hotel Cocal its 99% pros. There is a club called Loft, I think, that might be all or mostly pros as well. I think I stopped by Beetle bar and it was garbage. In general, Jaco is OK but a lot of pros and druggies around so use whatever street sense you have.

There is talent here and there. Having a car should help. There are some cute girls that work legit jobs around town. You just have to get out and find them.

I wasn't impressed with the beach, but there is a lot to do out there and better beaches close by.

I saw witches rock.. Too expensive per week. Any way to get a place for few weeks/ month and then do Surf lessons on demand.. maybe for a week/ weekend that I have less work?

Any idea on monthly rentals? Airbnb vs Local rental prices?

I'm interested in this as well. I plan to stick around Tamarindo for at least a month after my first week in the Witches Rock surf school.

I went to Witch's Rock last year. It's an awesome place to learn how to surf and chill out. It is expensive, but the price includes lessons and boards any time you want, and it is really a prime location for surfing.

I don't recommend it for girls, the camp is mostly dudes or couples, and most of the un-attached girls were not attractive. In my class, there were 1 or 2 that were bangable, depending on where you draw the line. I tried with one but didn't get anywhere.

Tamarindo is about 15 minutes walk from Witch's Rock. There were a lot of pros. I only found one spot that did not have pros but the talent was not great and there were a lot of both foreign and local surfer dudes there.

The other thing is that after a day of surfing, I had very little energy left to go out and game, and also many of the surf lessons and trips are scheduled really early in the morning.

San Jose was much better for meeting Ticas.

I am interested in going back to Witches Rock just for the surfing. If I meet any girls while I'm there that's a bonus but I'm not going there with that expectation.

Keep me posted if anyone is going. I might be in, and I think they have discount rates in October.

What kind of 'monthly' apartment rates are there?

Costa Rica trip in August.

So I wanted to give my impressions of Costa Rica from a gringo with limited gaming experience point of view. I went with three friends primarily on an offshore fishing trip and tried to slip a little game in between. I am at the novice level and I do speak passable Spanish I practiced before leaving. We spent almost all of our time in Jaco because that is where the fishing is.

First we stayed at the Best Western Jaco and it is pretty nice. About a three star resort with very good security. Its on the beach and really well taken care of. It was an all inclusive with free food and booze, both were pretty good. Had plenty of internet and lots of stuff to do. Staff was friendly and quite a few cute Ticas to talk to. The finest place to stay is Los Suenos that is where the marina is and it is first class. It rivals anything in Miami, American made and run and absolutely beautiful. If you wanted a place to take women back to this would be it. Just rent a condo for the week. Prices are not outrageous. We spent about $65 per person per night. In Los Suenos you would be looking at about $85 for a really nice place. Unfortunately we did not plan this well and security at the Best Western would not allow you to bring women back. Though you could sneak them in with your rental car.

City of Jaco. It is a shithole. Costa Rica is a very beautiful country with quite a few places to see. 50% of the country is under national park reserve. So they take their conservation seriously. In addition offshore the fishing is carefully policed and they protect their game fish species by very strict laws. For instance it is a $2000 fine to remove a bill-fish from the water. Strictly catch and release. The town of Jaco is ugly and dirty and loaded with poor locals and some surfers and lots of backpacker tourists in the the typical flip flops and cargo shorts like everyone has talked about so much. There are a hell of a lot of pros here. In fact it is hard to find a place without pros. You get approached a lot at night by pros and drug dealers. In fact the town is kind of an embarrassment to other folks from Costa Rica. When talking to the cute women at the resort even the ones that work there they were embarrassed about the place and would not live there. There is the Hotel Cocal that was talked about and it is ground zero for P4P we went in there and tried to shore some girls but they were not having it. These girls were from all over and they were experts. We did have some fun played around a little but no pay no play with them. The one I was working on was a tall Russian with black hair about 21 and gorgeous. She was fun but all business when it came time to close the deal. My buddies got nervous and eventually we left.

Game. Well my game is very new and I have only so much Spanish but I will say this. I opened and flirted with every girl I met. And amazingly my buddies would jump in as soon as I said something like a bunch of thirsty hyenas. One of them spoke fluent Spanish so it made it difficult for me to compete once he started talking. Matter of fact after a couple of days I said something about it. And they just laughed and made jokes. It was frustrating. But I kept at it. My main friend started to straighten up a little but he also spoke the least Spanish so could not do much. I spent most of my time working on two hired guns at the resort. I worked primarily on this one bartender she was about a 6.5 with a rocking body and very friendly, and sweet as can be full of energy. I think she was down but I could not get her alone. Tried a couple of times and it did not work out. I think with the right timing and better logistics I could have worked it out. She seemed willing to hang out.

The other main girl I worked on was a very cute 8 who worked in the dining room, she was gorgeous spoke good english and had a very nice thin body with beautiful breasts. But she was working too hard and I was cockblocked a couple of times by her manager in the dining room. She was really nice though and more of a long term type of game. I was just not set up for gaming on this trip. But I did approach every girl I saw in shops bars restaurants at the national parks, etc. So I was happy at least with my effort.

Venues. We went out a couple of nights, here is the rundown. Monkey bar, shithole with a bunch of locals that do not like gringos. No women anyway. Beetle Bar used to be the main place for the pros. No one goes there anymore it is a dive. Open to the street you can see a few whores in there and some old fat guys sitting on barstools. Not much going on there. Orange club. Looked pretty good spent some time there and it was ok. Got approached and I approached several times but all turned out to be pros. It was like this every where. I tried to get my buddies to loosen up a little but it was not easy, as they got drunker it got better. One of the chicks knew the owner of Le Loft and got us in on the front of the line. This was probably the fanciest place in town. He said he owns a club on south beach also. But my friend bought a bottle and we split it and it was ok. But same thing lots of pros. Many were hot really hot. But it was a pain because you would be talking to some chick and the next thing you know she is asking to go to your hotel. Not what a normal girl does. At that point I would find out I had another pro.

Overall a really good place to go fishing. One of the best spots in Central America for fishing. But not for gaming women. If you like P4P you will be in heaven. You can negotiate a beautiful young woman of just about any nationality and have her spend the whole week at your condo taking care of you. For about 50 or 60 per day. But I am not into that and surely not what this site is about.

One last thing. May be a tidbit worth exploring if someone is in Costa Rica. We spent some time and a few beers with a tour guide at Manuel Antonio National Park. He was the closest thing to a player I met there. He was fluent in english knew his way around the women and he had very good local knowledge. He was telling me that there is a city in Costa Rica Liberia that is full of single women. His story is that the men in this city leave Costa Rica to go to other countries such as Mexico and USA for work and they never seem to make it back. And he says his sister is one of these so called widows. That she only sees her husband every couple of years. Curious if anyone has heard about this? So he is telling me unsolicited by me that it is a goldmine for women.

So that is my trip. Hope this helps.

Good post. I also stayed in the Best Western in Jaco and thought it was a nice hotel. Jaco is full of pros, but it's not impossible to meet regular girls there. Most are either there to work or are vacationing from San Jose.

Older men ive came across online in various forums think it is impossible to get free poon at a place like Del Rey

That's BS. I had a babe come on to me in the DR a couple of weeks ago. She was from Honduras. I took her back to my hotel and smashed. The next morning she gave me some money from her country and said since she was going back home in 30 days to use the money to take a cab from the airport to her house if I ever come to her country. I gave her zero loot so it can definitely be done.

How was your trip, overall?

I have never heard both online or off someone claiming to have gotten a free bang out of Del Rey. I tried plenty of times myself and I know of at least 5 friends of mine who are way better looking and have tighter game than me fail there as well. I by no means doubting your story, I reckon anything is possible and even hardened pro's have been known to give up the ass for free sometime. I am not being facetious, but I am genuinely curious now. How you pulled this off. What time and day of the week was? it how did you Gamed her? was she hot?

There's some good information in this thread, but there were so many trolls posting in the early part of the thread that it's not so easy to separate the good information from the bad. Speaking from first-hand experience, I can tell you that you can pull regular girls from the Del Rey, but you chances of doing so are not that great. Some girls go to the Del Rey after other bars and clubs close, but it's probably not your best option in San Jose.

I would stay as close do downtown San Jose as possible. San Jose is the easiest city I have ever been to. Escazu and Santa Ana are nice areas and have some daygame opportunities, especially Escazu, but they are a logistical nightmare if you plan on spending a lot of time in any other part of San Jose. If there is anywhere in the United States or Latin America where I could go undefeated or beyond undefeated, it's San Jose.

Merengero have you heard anything about Liberia and the women being so available there. Does that sound like anything you have heard?

Also I know a couple of ex pats that live in Jaco and they happier than a pig in shit. I think if I was ever going to retire with a foreign woman. Costa Rica may be the place. But not necessarily with a Tica. Maybe find an EE woman and then bring her to Costa Rica not the states.

I can dream can't i? Lol

I never heard anything about Liberia, but I'd also be interested to know about it. Hopefully, someone here has some helpful information about it. I'm taking a trip to Mexico in December and I have some serious stuff to deal with during the next few months, but I really want to spend about two weeks in Costa Rica in February or March. If I go, I will report what I can.
