Datasheet Geneva

I have been working and living for almost a year in Geneva now and want to pass on my experience.

Geneva is an amazing city and not for no reason ranked among the top cities worldwide for high living standards and quality of life. This comes with a bill as it is ridiculously expensive (just like Oslo, Stockholm, Zurich, Tokyo). A can of beer in the local super market is around 2 CHF. A drink in a good night club 30 CHF.

Nonetheless, almost half of the town are non-Swiss as there are many multinational companies and non-government organizations such was WHO, UNO, UNESCO ... i think this is good because that is also true for the women ;-) you can find any nation here and almost everybody speaks English apart from some very local French-Swiss that did not learn English in school or were too lazy to learn to do their homework back then ...

So, in my first months i banged an Italian, and Ecuadorian and (I could not believe it either) a Swiss girl. So i loved the place first minute. This was over the summer. People are really outgoing and open in the summer and lots of street life as it is (almost) mediteranean climate and lots of life, terasses, bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes around the beautiful lake. Over the winter, geneva can get quite empty as most people don't go out so much because it is cold, clubs are emptier, people go into the mountains to their chalets and/or ski a lot and are then too tired in the evening. Of course there is lots of mountains around and skiing is big in the winter and a must if you stay here for longer as well. I also learned it and joined a ski club and got to know some nice people there (including some nice girls).

So where to go out?
'lapoticaire bar ... best cocktails in town ... hot girls. kinda small though and if no girls there ... don't waste your time and stay forever. go on, there is some bars in the same street and around the corner with lots of hot women as well. one is almost just across the street.
l'atelier ... is the bigger brother of l'apoticaire at the other side of the street. even more hot girls here ... sometimes too full. there is some other bars around this one as well. but apart from that, there is no good club or anything close by.
antidote ... not the best bar on earth ... but in the center and sometimes a lot of hot girls and very flirty bar. good music (house/EDM), prices are ok ... sometimes can be a bit of a cock fest though ... but i like to go there before going to club

baroque probably best club in geneva. strict door, many expats. DJ plays mostly house/edm and sometimes a bit of RnB. drinks are super expensive (30 CHF for a vodka lemon or gin tonic). this club also opened a restaurant/bar a few meters away and it's also very nice. good to start here and then go on to the club.

java club is based in the kempinski hotel. i personally avoid this club. been there once. nothing special but fucking expensive (just like baroque). here you will find mostly 18 year old teenagers that pay bottles (500 CHF) with daddy's credit card, prostitutes and old business guys (from the hotel) that like to have prostitutes around. music is mixed ... house and RnB. if you want to party there, make sure you check out Paquis area with tons of bars and a bit of red light district before as it is really close by. Paquis also has many underground clubs/bars where you can go after (for example Silencio. I have not been too much here but i will check it out soon.

other clubs are bypass (good DJs come here sometimes but crowd is very young - mostly below 25), v-club (newly opened and positioned below java and baroque but still premium) and MAS (a bit of gay community there but usually HOT girls that are not approached by the guys ;-)

have not yet tried day game so much but i will now. spots would be the shopping mile in the center around the lake
