The Last Psychiatrist: Sheryl Sandberg

Wow. This is a very complex, difficult to distill article. It covers everything from feminism to economics to "the system" that we shun. But worth reading. Here's the "red pill" element.

Quote:Quote:

The system's ideal woman is the single mother, she's produced with her uterus and is willing to go all in on production/consumption, she has no choice. I'm not saying she wants to be a single mother, I'm saying that's what the system wants her to be. That's feminism. You can get married too, as long as he'll make it so you get in at 8.

His prior post is good too:

"We need more women in power." Wrong preposition, dummy, but anyway you have them. You have judges and prosecutors and twenty female senators, what has it gotten you? Your own ground floor women don't protect each other, you know who had to come to this teen's aid? Anonymous. Men.

Of course I don't know if the boys really did these things or not, ok? But if the reason the boys were protected was the "football culture," that means people in the town were taught to protect them. And if the girls did nothing, it means they were taught to do nothing, and the people most responsible for that lesson was other women.

The Last Psychiatrist is probably the best culture critic currently in the blog-osphere. Really profound stuff.

I'm glad somebody mentioned this blog. The author is more or less a genius, just on another level. Either that or the fact that I have no background in psychiatry means this type of thought is just new to me.

It's rare that I read something nowadays that really demands a ton of concentration, but gives you an 'a-ha' moment every other paragraph. Reading his blog is like choosing to play chess over backgammon, you need be mentally focused and ready to challenge yourself. I have to re-read at least a sentence or two almost every paragraph just to get the real meaning.

This trick applies to men, too, let's go back to Zuckerberg and his hoodie: off of half a century of "the clothes make the man" and "don't dress for the job you have, dress for the job you want", the right to NOT have to get dressed up is sold to men as a perk, but look at the alchemy: it is 100% certain that if you think it's wicked that your job has casual everydays, then you are smart, get paid way less than you are worth and, most importantly, you will never dare ask for more money. Eventually dressing down will be sold as aspirational for women, but don't sweat it, wearing sneakers is a pro-feminist act, after all, they're made almost exclusively by women.

Reading The Last Psychiatrist is an utter mind fuck. Completely mind blowing and revelatory sentiments in every fucking sentence.

I find myself thinking "Holy shit, this is everything I have ever wanted to say but will never be able to articulate."

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

Wow. This is a very complex, difficult to distill article.

This is a snide and rambling commentary on the workaholic culture epitomized by Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook. Sandberg was glamourously featured on the cover of Time magazine and Cosmo Careers magazine. Then she spoiled the "have it all" fantasy by recommending that career women find beta homemaker husbands so they can work long hours.

The article concludes that "the system" has coopted feminism to trick women into abandoning love/family and instead seek fulfillment as an underpaid, overworked wage-slave.

True but the 'snide and rambling' part is what makes it so hilarious and where a lot of the meat of the article actually is. The Devil is in the Details.

For example, the analysis of the staged photograph. It's presented to support the thesis, but it's interesting by itself. Where are Padmakshi and "Megan"?

Interesting discussion of Narcissus. He did not "know himself" and did not even recognize his reflection. He rejected all lovers because a vague fantasy beat concrete reality. He loved Echo after hearing her voice, but rejected her after seeing her. He was too proud to accept anyone who could love him and instead pined for his own reflection.

The red pill example is all the immature indulged girls who never gain self-knowledge from real challenges. They become self-entitled and reject all men, holding out for the alpha who can let them "have it all". They are narcissists, unable to love a real person, waiting in vain for superficial and unattainable perfection that does not requite their love. They end up as old cat ladies.

Good summary, but Narcissus was a guy, and the process of unhealthy self-involvement occurs with all humans.

There's two main problems with romance--
1) the inability to love
2) inability to inspire love.

Both men and women suffer from both, most people suffer from one or the other at different points in their lives.

Reminder that Sheryl Sandberg is a total fraud.

The source of her power is the relationships that she made while working as the intern for Larry Summers, one of the most powerful bankers in the world.

She got top tech jobs, despite knowing no tech, because her real job was to manage relationships with bankers (and to keep tabs on google/Facebook for the bankers).

She makes working mom with kids work, only because she has a fully staffed personal private daycare located next to her office. (In order for her to lean in, a staff of other women have to not lean in because they take care of Sandberg’s kids).

Her billionaire husband, a fatass who looks like he never exercised a day in his life, died in a mysterious treadmill accident in Mexico that was never investigated. When Sandberg resurfaced publicly, she was dating seriously another billionaire who was much richer than husband #1.

With women, always remember to watch what they do when you interpret what they say. It seems to me that the true meaning of lean in is to figure out how to work for the most powerful men on the planet, get hired because of who, not what, you know, have other women raise your kids, and hypergamously trade-up your husband.

TLP is probably more Black Pill than Red Pill as such. He can get pretty depressing on some fronts. What sets him apart from the standard JewRothschildIlluminatiCentralBankerControl blog is his working theory that, in essence, the System propagates itself largely without any requirement for input from puppetmasters, and it's essentially because of how the Baby Boomers raised their kids. It's less where the destruction of the West is being pushed directly and more like an avalanche that's already started and already keeping itself going with input from pretty much everyone. Everyone bought into the System semi-unconsciously, as evidenced by the fact that for the most part in our lives we continue to back it. For example, the hilarity of the Occupy Wall Street movement which wanted to bring down large corporations while still using credit cards and iPhones. Or what I find the most memorable metaphor he produced: children are essentially bodies subject to Newton's First Law, i.e. a body pushed in a particular direction will keep on moving that way unless another entity provides a force opposing it. For the most part, parents are not providing any opposing force to that which our culture is presently putting on kids, and how much force do you actually need to push a kid on a toboggan across an icy driveway?

About the most "self-help" TLP produces comes down to recognising that most likely you (along with most other people in the West) are infected with chronic narcissism as he defines it, and it's extremely difficult to self-treat such a condition; about all the treatment he suggests literally comes down to "Describe yourself without using the word 'am'. Practice this." (Which frankly is probably the best treatment, too.)
