Ryanair to buy 200 Boeings in bn order

TV Guy: "But you don't own a private jet"

Michael O'Leary: "No, I am rich because I don't waste my money".

Update:

Just watched the interview on CNBC.

This guy is hilarious. A genius too.

Real Playboy.

Easily one of my favorite CEO's.

------

It is funny how Ryanair is now super popular with the forum.

I remember a not so distant past when people where crucified for flying Ryanair.

Remember that?

I will fly Ryanair whenever I get a chance. Hell, I might even go to Europe this summer just so I can fly Ryanair and take a nap.

Side note:

If you are ever flying from Dublin to Santander this summer, fly Ryanair.

It's the only direct flight.

I highly recommend.

And he learned everything he knows and copied the whole deal.......from this guy. http://management.fortune.cnn.com/2013/0...-airlines/

Now this dude, was a cowboy, an American original. A chain-smoking, whiskey drinking, pussy chasing man's man who made his own rules and got away with it. He was fcuking the flight attendants before anyone decided there ought to be a rule against it.

And a good shit to boot. Not some arrogant cock-sucker I-banker from GS or Citi

Good one.

Yeah, if you follow the lineage of any true Playboy, it always leads to some chain smoking, hard drinking Playboy.

Ryanair is cheap and nasty and the boss is a cunt. But I did once fly to Girona from the UK for £1 return, including all fees and taxes, so I can't complain too much.

But try getting them to re-schedule you if they cancel your flight - they'll tell you to fuck off, and no refund.

£1 return...you did well. If I fly Ryanair the opening flight cost is about 5 pence....and when you have added a seat, the opportunity to carry a bag, a pass to the toilet, the option to bring a passport, the boarding tax, the gate ticket inspect tax, the fit arse stewardess tax, the landing tax and the safety briefing tax.....you usually end up about £250!

All joking apart they are usually still far cheaper than the mainstream airlines....but hate when they bullshit about the true "actual" cost of the flight!

Not sure how accurate the 18 billion dollar price tag is.

Plane companies usually get about a 30-50% discount off new planes. But - it is always in both companies interests to hype the full price in order to impress their customers. Just something I picked up when I was reading books about Ryanair a couple of years ago.

More Ryanair news:

Ryanair seeks to save its customers money with roaming app

Quote:Quote:

Leading European budget airline Ryanair has launched a new smartphone app to allow its customers to avoid ‘extortionate’ roaming charges.

A partnership with telecoms technology company Wavecrest, RyanairTalk enables calls to be made over Wi-Fi or 3G connections for as little as €0.13 per minute.

The airline claimed this can save its customers up to 65% with mobile networks generally charging around €0.35 per minute.

As well as offering cheap calls when travelling, the app also allows customers to make cheap international calls when at home.

Ryanair said calls to landlines offer even greater value with rates as low as €0.03 per minute, a saving of over 90%.

The free RyanairTalk Android or iPhone app is available to download now.

To mark the launch Ryanair is giving away 10 minutes of free mobile calls (or 40 minutes free landline calls) to the first 50,000 customers who download the app.

Ryanair head of communications Robin Kiely said: “Ryanair already delivers Europe’s lowest airfares, as well as the guaranteed lowest and hotel room rates (on RyanairHotels.com).

“Now Ryanair passengers can continue to save money and enjoy cheaper phone bills by using RyanairTalk, which is available to download through the Ryanair.com website, Google Play and the iPhone app store.”

Wavecrest chief executive Chris Adams added: “As the underlying telecoms and technology provider for this service, we are extremely proud to support Ryanair’s relentless campaign to drive down costs for European travellers.

“This simple to use app allows customers to keep in touch without the worry of coming home to a huge and unexpected phone bill.”
