Some haters came at me this week

They tried to get me deleted off Wikipedia. There was a public vote to determine if my page should stay or not. The vote had them calling me an "Arab American," a "sex tourist", and a "hobbyist blogger." One of the haters was a top editor of socialist pages.

I didn't want to involve you guys for support. If Wikipedia vets thought I wasn't "notable" enough per their guidelines, then that's fine with me. But the vote was in my favor. The page remains. It's also not a fan-boy tribute... it does contain criticisms that I believe are fair and balanced.

Also, the past 3 months I've been getting a lot of emails from women (mostly foreign), more than in the past 3 years. A couple have asked to meet. This is rather new. Either I'm getting soft or our views are not as extreme as they once were (hopefully the latter).

All the action of this year happens when I'm in a random city, alone, with my laptop as my best friend. I still go out like normal, approaching women, doing daily work. With this new attention, my goal is to stay as grounded as possible.

What is it in socialist ideology that makes staunch followers of it think pickup is some evil thing?

The discussion is interesting.

It seems Roosh has picked the ire of a particularly senior wiki editor. As teedub mentioned, the guy is big on socialism.

I've never read a delete discussion before, I find the rigor very appealing.

None of this would have happened if Wikipedia had more female editors.

None of the part where the article doesn't get taken down, at least.

EDIT: But yeah, they would probably not even be having these kinds of discussions about it. It was a profoundly logical event.

That guy is like a clone of the main hater of my blog... same empty rhetoric, same condescension and bluster, same white knighting at expense of rationality... it's like a deja vu!

Hot young girls have rarely been bothered by my game blogs.

Hot girls think, "You can't run game on me," so at most they see it as a harmless hobby.

It's older chicks (say, over 26) who start to feel threatened by it.

Crazy. Back when Roosh was grinding away at his meaningless lab job I bet he'd have never imagined any of this 5 years in the future.

When you look back five years and think of how you arrived to your present condition, you probably nod with understanding as you recall the work, effort, and bit of luck that brought you here. The road to now may even have some logic to it. But if you asked yourself five years ago to predict this moment, or a man from a time machine gave you a vision of how you would be in five years, you’d be shocked, disappointed, or frightened. You wouldn’t have been able to imagine moving from point A to point B, though once you’ve made it to point B, it becomes rather sensible how that journey took place.

"What is it in socialist ideology that makes staunch followers of it think pickup is some evil thing?"

I think the left-right dichotomy is an artificial division designed to foster divide and conquer by the wealthy. Get the "rightists" on board with pro gun stuff, then borrow like hell for another war for Halliburton.

I'm a pinko librul leftard and believe the right to peaceably assemble and the right to free speech are clearly delineated in the Constitution.

Pickup, unless you're forcibly grabbing a girl who hasn't consented or keeping her from going about her status-acquiring, Alpha seeking way, seems in keeping with those rights.

Rather than swallowing whole the propaganda of the rich (in some areas) or feminists ( in others) and fall for" divide and conquer" tactics, it's better for all of us to focus on the Constitution.

You get your backyard arsenal, we get the gubmint "general welfare" as the constitution states, and we all get free speech to describe each other as idiots. I get to pay for the ghetto gunshot victims in the emergency rooms who never pay their own bills ( 100k per gunshot wound treatment if I remember correctly), you get to pay for food stamps, and we all get to bitch forever. It's a hell of a lot better than planting IEDs targeted at each other. Hell, we can even find some amusement in each other.

The poisoning of "socialist" as a descriptor has little to do with its effectiveness as a government tool and a lot to do with propaganda from the rich.

Socialist countries have the highest quality of life in material terms right now.

Sweden has a balanced budget:

http://www.economonitor.com/dolanecon/20...n-balance/

In addition, the first paragraph of the constitution lists "domestic tranquility" and the "general welfare" as goals for the establishment of the United States. It's hard to argue that the general welfare includes only Goldman Sachs Vampire Squids and the other winnners in our financial system.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

http://www.ushistory.org/documents/constitution.htm
The first clause of Article I, Section 8, reads, "The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States."

If socialism is so bad, why does Sweden have a balanced budget?

Maybe the problem is more the Military-Industrial complex, it's much more expensive than food stamps.

This will never end well...

It's a bit of an myth that Sweden is a socialist state. The heavy regulations commonly associated with social democracy hasn't really been in place since the 70s. For ex the US has a more regulated finance sector than swe.

You are right that the use of the word socialist as an all-encompassing pejorative has gotten out of hand. However, with regards to Sweden, Socialist and Social Democratic are two different things. Social Democracy is just a democracy with a very robust welfare state. Socialism entails the government owning or controlling a good portion of the means of production.

It's a bit of an myth that Sweden is a socialist state. The heavy regulations commonly associated with social democracy hasn't really been in place since the 70s. For ex the US has a more regulated finance sector than swe.

The "myth", as you put it, extends to education and health care.
Seems like more of a reality than a myth. :

http://www.reference.com/motif/education...-in-sweden

In Sweden they didn't even charge foreigners tuition until 2010 at the schools mentioned in the article.

It mentions fear by Swedes that they "might" start charging them tuition.

Free higher education for citizens -- Check.

The Swedish medical system is universal, one can pay extra for private care, but the expense per person is growing far slower than USA.

Perhaps you'd like to provide facts and citations about the "mythical" nature of the strong socialistic elements of Sweden's society.

I recommend those who want to demonize more advanced countries find another bogeyman than the word socialism. I think one of your best arguments is the chicks seem really hard to get in those places unless you're some kind of god.

Sorry to get off the primary thread topic, but the attempts to characterize attempts to censor/suppress Roosh's message as "socialist" are simply ill-thought out and jingoistic.

They might be more accurately portrayed as "misandrist", because they attempt to suppress the rights of men legally pursuing their own interests.
