@laner, have you de facto taken over this thread from el mech?
Is it time to decide what’s beta and alpha again?

What do you guys think of the Hyundai Kona?
Ignore the fact that the lawn mower somehow looks and moves like a car.
A quick look at the reviews show that many drivers like this car.
Is this car model with the name Kona alpha or beta or something else?

What you see here is its little brother, the Tacoma TRD Pro, probably the most popular pick-up truck this side of 1985. As trucks try desperately to lean more towards a refined, car-like driving experience, like our beloved Honda Ridgeline, this Taco keeps one foot solidly planted in the past by remaining properly rugged, and being the spiritual successor to Marty McFly’s truck. If you’re looking for a bulletproof companion that will bring you anywhere, like, forever, this is the bro truck you need in your life.

In Portugal this car is called Kauai. Why you ask? Because the original name sounds like "Cona" which is our informal, and extremely dirty, word for 'Vagina'.
So, like many things, can be alpha or beta, depending on the man.

So I think I’m between the Wrangler and the Tacoma TRD Off-Road. One that looks a lot like the TRD Pro:

They are selling new for about US$36,000.

Here’s the vehicle types women find most attractive among male drivers:
Pickup trucks: 32 percent.
Sports cars: 27 percent.
SUVs: 16 percent.
Sedans: 11 percent.
Hybrid or electric: 9 percent.
UPS truck: 4 percent.
Minivans: 2 percent.
Mail trucks: 1 percent.
For their part, the men queried said they’d be most likely to rev their biological engines for a woman who straps herself into a red BMW sports car.

^^That thing is bad ass.
I would have taken one of those over my suburban for sure. But they are rare, and in good shape, even rarer.
How would a new vortec conversion be in one of them? I hear vans are the worst vehicles in the world to do major repairs on.

Yeah Tacomas are a solid truck and have great resale value, despite some recalls. They can do most of what a Jeep can, aside from crazy extreme rock crawling, plus have a bed. They are also hard to find used of recent vintage for a price much less than new...so it may be worth just buying new.
Compared to a (used) Jeep, I’d be spending more on it.
But do women prefer guys with pickups?
