Where can you retire like a king on 4k a month?

Basically title says it all. I don't want to permanently live in Ukraine. So any other options where a couple can live like a king with Western standards would be helpful. We don't drink or smoke so the prices of those things don't need to be considered. But love clubs and eating out. Gadgets also but don't want to drive.

Man, there is a ton of information here on where to live well on passive cash flows, it is probably the most talked about topic in this section.

Likewise, you can conclude there are a number of options, and you'd have to be more selective as to narrow down an answer.

You can't get much cheaper for a western lifestyle than the US.

4k a month comes out to $52k a year. I'm assuming that's a clean 4k? Spendable? You can live just about anywhere outside of major cities in the US on that.

My cousin says you can live in Macedonia on $5k a year. I'm more inclined to double that figure. I'm sure you'd like a change of pace from the Slavic countries though.

South America seems an obvious choice. Warm weather, friendly women and the beer flows like wine [Image: lol.gif]

When you say couple, are you saying you'll be taking a bird from pussy paradise and importing her to a more tolerable environment for yourself?

I'd say the US is not the place to do that, for many reasons I won't go into here.

If your girl is hot, you probably also want to go to a place where the vast majority of the local male population isn't ready to dry hump your girlfriend on sight (e.g. Spain, Italy), AND where she won't be so bored by a soul-less existence to self-destruct (i.e. suburban USA).

That actually doesn't leave very many choices. But I'd argue SE Asia could be a possibility.

I hope you're making more than $4K per month if you aim to spend that much.

If not, find a place where you can live well on 1500 and put 2500 in the bank every month. In a year you'll have $30K in investment cash. Or you could buy a cheap bit of land and build a tiny cabin there for rainy days. Even if you don't want to go that extreme, at least save something.

I'll assume you're making a lot more than the $4K though and that I'm just preaching to the choir....This post is for entertainment purposes only.

I would argue you can't live "like a king" anywhere on $4K/month, unless kings either ride public transport or have really shitty cars.

You said "we" don't drink or smoke, you have a girlfriend?, if so you're going to nightclubs with her??

Holy fuck.

If I had $4k a month where I live (Croatia), I'd be firmly in the top 1%. That's sick. Even for a couple with two children, that's still huge. My family income was about $2.5k a month and we were easily considered upper-middle class.

Come enjoy hot (if difficult) girls and sunny weather on the coast of Dalmatia.

Hey Jimukr104

You fortunes must have changed since last summer because then you were;

Complaining about the price of beer in Ukraine(one of the cheapest countries in Europe) and how you miss drinking 4 bottles of beer for $1 in the park in Kiev

$4000 a month is quite a good retirement package for a retired New York Cop eh? [Image: undecided.gif]

I take it your post was a hypothetical one?

You can't live like a King on 4k USD a month (esp. if the USD falls further), but you could live like an exiled minor princeling in a far-flung province...which may not be too bad, depending on your priorities.

You would have a hard time spending $4K per month in the DR unless you wanted to pull out all the stops.

Pierre Travelpartysex whatever site I was never on. The guy basically trolled Roosh site and took our conversations and twisted them. Basically the owner of that site tried to make it look like we think FSU girls are bad. He quoted what we posted here on that site.
Yes I do think Ukraine is very expensive now. Value is value. Inflation since I lived there is 300% at least. In USA it is probably in same period 30%.
Basically I want to sell my flat and get out of Ukraine. I don't want to bring thAt money back to USA ,so yeah I am looking for another country to invest in where a retirement visa can be obtained.
4k is after tax. Actually many retirees make much more. Was injured so no overtime.
As for reasons to want out of Ukraine???many, but unless you have lived and invested money there you would not understand. Even their inheritance laws are barbaric.

Kiplinger picked Medellin as their choice of a number one retirement spot...they say a couple can live well on just $1500 a month...don't believe it...they could live OK if they bought a house and car cash.

Ali,DR does sound nice. Also Croatia is worth looking into. Yes we like dancing. I might have a drink but the only time I put them down would be maybe a few beers with other expats. In NYC smoking is expensive so that's a consideration for some. I have no problem taking taxis if need be. I just don't want to drive. I suffered enough from my motorbike accident back In 2001 in Kiev. People drive insane there lol. Mike Bloomberg use to take subway,is he living UN kingly???(is that even a word?). Thailand sounds possible also. My only issue is visa maybe.

If you browse the "Best Places to Retire" list, you're going to find the same suspects coming up over and over again: Ecuador, Panama, Malaysia, Uruguay, Chile, Belize, Spain, Portugal, etc.

A friend of mine moved to Panama and was doing pretty well on an Air Force pension, which is much less than $4K. There and the DR visas aren't much of an issue. Unlike Europe. Personally I wouldn't settle long term in EE. The climate and diet sucks. Living in LatAm gives better options with climate, food, cost, ect. Just being able to get up and get a glass of fresh coconut water is worth its weight in gold.
