Are these movies any good?
I haven't watched them but from what I've read online, they're horrible.
Read the book, its much better except for the repetitive speeches by John Galt, especially at the end.

Haven't seen, but read the book and it's good. Only thing is it's soooo damn long.
I saw the first one, it's ok, not horrible. They didn't have a very big budget, pretty much all no name actors and they had to rush the production because they were about to lose the rights to make the movie. It's not a story Hollywood power players want anything to do with and they've spent decades going out of their way to make sure the movie never got made.
The book is very good, but very long. There's parts where characters talk for pages and pages and that gets pretty tedious. Lots of people knock Atlas Shrugged and Ayn Rand but you don't see them offering up anything similar or better and most criticism of the the book and her is based on the fact that they disagree with her philosophy.
