Haha I used that monologue for my acting class. Great speech.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. - H L Mencken

I have my own place. And my greatest fun is singing loudly along to Whitney Houston, drinking bourbon whilst reading books on Hitler. At 5 in the morning.
I think I'm fucked in the head. But I love the freedom to do what the fuck I want. Life is what you make of it. And nothing is more fun than finding your own perverse pleasures. The government hasn't yet figured out a way to tax fun.
Every weekend - I am like a 6 year old kid at Christmas.
Yet so many people hand that freedom over to some bitch who wants to clamp down on them.
I discovered my favourite Whitney Houston song in this collection of brilliant monologues from the film American Psycho. These are my three favourite scenes from the movie. And in each scene, Patrick Bateman gives a brilliant deconstruction of a timeless piece of 80's pop music.
To me - the Whitney Houston song is an anthem for MGTOW.

One thing to consider is that you can stay in the game way longer than you probably imagine right now. As long as you take care of your body and don't get bogged down in the weight gain, diabetes, metabolic syndrome spiral you can maintain most of your energy into your 30's and even 40's.
Congrats on the job. Everyone has to earn their living somehow. You can always quit after a year or two, or go on a work sabbatical and get out of cubicle land for a while. You just need to think how to frame it so you don't piss people off and burn bridges. As you no doubt know London is a great location for people who are looking for professional contract positions. Do a 6 month contract in the city. Go travel the world for 9 months, Come back and do 12 month contract. Go travel again. Great lifestyle as far as I'm concerned.

What sort of jobs are we talking that involve these kinds of contract positions? IT, consulting?

Yes. IT and consulting are two. But Accounting (Qualified and Part Qualified) assignments are also numerous in the City. Back Office Banking operations is also a good field. In the broader London area positions in Marketing even become available as contract positions. There's so much going on there, and companies often don't need and/or want to hire permanent staff for many reasons. Check out all the big recruiters websites. Tough it has been a while since I worked in London I'll bet good money that all of them still have sections on their sites for short term contract positions. Michael Page and Hay's are two agencies that spring to mind for me. Contract work also keeps you out of the silly office politics.
